Very low AMH

anyone been in a similar position or have any sort of advice. Basically I’m 30 and after TTC for nearly 2 years and not having success (nhs wait was around 18 months just for a scan) I decided to go privately. I had bloods and a scan and had bad news. Basically the scan found that I have a really thick lining and now have been referred for further testing for endometrial hyperplasia and bloods found my AMH to be really low 0.3 😔 and I’m premenopausal. Basically too low for ivf but also I’m not actually ovulating either as my cycles are super irregular and I wear an internal sensor which basically has shown I’ve not ovulated for quite some time!

obviously having fertility tests I was aware there was an issue but thought worse case it would be that we require ivf. Just wondered if anyone else has been in the same situation!

Hiya! I was diagnosed with POI at 31 (34 now), I found out after not being able to get pregnant for 2nd child. I had my daughter absolutely fine when I was 27.

My AMH came back 0.9 and I did IVF which didn't work as the quality and quantity of my eggs weren't great. I am now down the donor egg route.

I recommend following The Daisy Network, they are amazing! A charity for women and young girls with POI and they do great meet ups!

Happy to go through it all in more detail with you if you would like - It's hard coming to terms with it all, sending you love! X

@aaaarti my amh is 0.3 so really low and ivf isn’t an option. (Without doner). Ahh that sounds fab! I’ll look at that! I went to the clinic to begin investigations and thought I’d come away worse case scenario needing ivf, I never thought that that couldn’t even be an option.

how did you go about going the doner egg route? My husband and I have already discussed this being an option and the different sides to it all, there’s just so much to think about!
good luck!

I found out my amh was 0.80 at the age of 31 after 3 years of ttc, I had 2 round of ivf where I never got to transfer because clinic said my eggs were terrible quality because of my amh, I went to a clinic in Greece where I had ovarian prp and transfer 2 embryos on day 3, I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant! What is your AFC ?

Peonies94 · 24/04/2025 22:21

so yours was 0.8 ng or pmol. Mine is 0.4 pmol or 0.08 ng. I’ve not been told my AFC but had a scan today and was told one follicle could be seen on one side, none on the other. So I’m not sure if that means something?
what was yours? So glad to hear have a success story! Best wishes to you!

I'm actually unsure which one it was, I just remember the fertility doctor redoing my bloods because they thought it could be a lab mistake as it was so low for my age, but nope came back the same reading, they told me I will reach menopause middle 30s which scared me.
My afc was low but okay about 7 follicles but I didn't respond to stimulation well they managed to collect 2 eggs once.
But after my ovarian prp I amazingly collected 8 eggs, the prp is ment to boost your afc too and it did for me!
I refused to ever retest my amh again it's too stressful

ThatAmpleJadeHelper · 27/04/2025 15:21

Hi @Peonies94
Similar to you my AMH was 0.2 pmol (I think but not 100 percent on unit of measurement) Super low. I was 37 when this was first diagnosed. I spent a year trying with my own eggs but to no avail. So then decided to go the donor route with a clinic in Prague. Have just tested negative after 1st transfer but at least we now have some embryos to work with.

Peonies94 · 28/04/2025 07:36

@Clocloxx ive never heard of prp but I’ve just looked online now! That gives some hope!

same I’m 31 and told I’ll reach menopause soon! I think my follicle count was only one! So super low!
I’ll need to look into this, is prp only something they offer in certain countries? I’m so glad it worked for you, such a worry going through this at so young too!

@ThatAmpleJadeHelper thank you, and sorry you tested negative but wish you the best of luck with the embryos!

@Clocloxx how long did you have to spend in Prague to have your treatment? Curious as it’s something I’d look into but just trying to think about the logistics!

I didn't go to Prague, I went to serum in athens, that's where I done the ovarian PRP. My 1st trip was only 3 days then I went over for collection 6 weeks later I made a hoiladay from it and stayed 2 weeks :)
I'm in Ireland and I found the treatments here to be a bit behind there just so far advance in other countries

Peonies94 · 28/04/2025 16:54

@Clocloxx sorry 🤦🏻‍♀️ reading so much! Thank you! That’s interesting to know. I’m in wales, so thinking abroad could be an option for us too! Just so much to take in right now!

Hi there, not currently trying to conceive but discovered (from a regular visit to my gynecologist) that my AMH is 0.4 at the age of 24. I decided to freeze my eggs, but chances are very low (only got 4 in the first round and 2 in the second). The most important thing is for you to be healthy at the end of the day, to take care of your hormones (be followed by a doctor) and to understand that it is not your fault < 3
