Hi all,
Just wanting some guidance. Me and my husband have had a referral to james cook for IVF. All investigations done through hartlepool ARC. My egg reserve is low at age of 27 it is at 8. My husband has low count, mobility and poor morphology. We have been now referred for IVF after nearly 3 years of trying to James Cook hospital. Phoned today and told we have passed the vetting, have 3 rounds of IVF funded and that they will contact tomorrow with an appointment.

Just wondering what the next appointment will entail and the process going forward now we have funding and have been referred.

Any help or advice would be amazing.

Thank you all

I was private and at a different clinic but for us it was investigations/scans/bloods- agreed IVF was a best option - appointment with the nurse to tell us what protocol I'd be on, medications, prescription and going over forms/consent. Once that was done we were allowed to start stims once my next period was due a couple of weeks later.

I had ivf at a different centre, but in my experience once funding approved I was treated as if I was a private patient. For me, there was a consultation with he doctor to discuss the cycle they recommended (for me it was a long cycle with downregulation to start). Then the plan was to phone with my next period and they the got us in to sign consent forms and start the medications - which for us was somepoint on the second half of the cycle. Then there was a month of medications prior to egg retrieval and fresh transfer 5 days later. For us we did end up having to wait for about 3 months after the initial consultant because there was a national shortage of one of the meds I needed which was unlucky, but out of the clinics control. I know some clinics have a waiting list to get in for treatment, but I imagine you would know by now if that were the case :)

When you start stims they will get you in a few times for transvaginal scans to see how the follicles are developing, for me that was the most intense part, but overall was a very manageable process

Hi I have an appointment in June at Hartlepool. It is with a Dr Mostafa? I’m not sure if you had him too? I was just wondering what the process is? How many appointments have you had to get to this stage? X

Hi, we had out first with dr mostafa and a nurse which was history taking. Got booked in for a load of tests, then another appointment and more tests thwn our final appointment where we were referred for ivf. It took around a year to this point but that is due to a lot of issues me and my partner needed investigating and waits for some of the tests. Then we got referred last month at the start of the month and out appointment at james cook is June 10th

Hey,
Just wondering how your appointment went? We have a follow up after trying letrozole on Thursday and will likely be referred to IVF. Not sure of the wait times
