IVF stims dosage?

Hey!

We ate due to start ivf stims in a couple of weeks, first timers here after trying for 5 years (so knowledge is limited) my question is surrounding the dosage

we have been prescribed:

Cetrotide 0.25mg
Ovitrelle
Meriofert 150iu
Gonal F Pen 900iu

There is a minefield of information online, but I’m wondering if Gonal F at 900iu is normal? I seem to be seeing most taking 300iu?

I don’t know if it’s relevant, but all my bloods came back normal. Told my AMH was within the normal range at 12.5 (I’m 40 years old)
and the Hyfosy scan was normal, with 8-10 follicles on each ovary, confirmed I’m ovulating okay and no issues found. No previous pregnancies, just haven’t fallen pregnant.

is this a high dosage, or am I just being silly?

Hello!

I am by no means an expert (have only done one round) but my experience was that my ovaries did not react as well to the medication as they would have expected and therefore they only retrieved 5 eggs, only two of which were mature and able to be fertilised.

Therefore, from my point of view, I would not be concerned about a higher dose as it might prevent you from being in my situation (only one to transfer in the end).

there’s such a vast amount of information available, but it’s all so confusing at the same times isn’t it.

i’m really sorry you didn’t respond as well as expected, I can only imagine how hard that must have been. Seems so easy on paper doesn’t it.

No problem, as I said my knowledge isn’t much but it’s nice to have some feedback.

It really is confusing and incredibly stressful. I have found quite a few useful threads on here, if nothing else it is nice to know that there’s other people out there who understand what you are going through.

Hey @JDann I think your dosage will differ from the pen you’ve to buy. I was on Gonal-F and according to the manufacturer you shouldn’t be prescribed more than 450iu per day so it could be you’ve to order the 900iu pen but you will use that over 2 or 3 days. I’d check with your clinic what dosage you’ve to take because 900iu per day is extreme!

I have low AMH and was on the highest NHS dose which was 375iu per day.
