Double Embryo Transfer

Hi all.
I had a double embryo transfer on day 5 because they hadn't reached the blastocyst stage that the clinic would have liked.
Just wondered what the success rate for this was? I'm trying not to stress, but its easier said than done. I just want it to work so badly. I dont know if there is anything I should be doing also to help this be more successful other than resting.

@Nickeigh I have no words of advice but I want you to know you’re not alone in this. I 100% relate as I’m literally going through this right now… had a double embryo transfer at day 5 today because our remaining 2 out of the original 6 embryos haven’t developed to blast stage.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this because it’s just heartbreaking. Me and my husband have just sort of accepted that it won’t work but I can’t help but just hope that tiny amount- but I always find that Hope is the kicker in the end!

Hi Emily,
Thank you for responding. I'm sorry you're going through this too. Its so deflating. They've said not to think about it and think positive thoughts. I'm trying my absolute hardest, but i can't help but think it has not worked at all. The other 2 embryos i found out today did not make it to the stage for freezing so if this doesn't work I am literally starting from the beginning.
I feel so sad because we started off with 12 eggs collected and they've went down to 4 then to 2. I still have my fingers crossed though

@Nickeigh it’s very much so.
Our medical team said the same too, but that’s so difficult to do considering they’ve told us it is very unlikely. But there is a chance I guess and even the most perfect cycles and transfer can fail, so maybe this could succeed?
We’re the same- no embryos suitable for freezing and like you said the idea of starting right back at the beginning just exhausts me.
Yep, I understand that too. We had 15 eggs, 13 mature and then 6 embryos which were all growing nicely with 2 at a lovely high grading… so to go to none is heartbreaking.

Heres to us both defying the odds and getting our miracles ❤️✨

The drop off can be devastating - we had 19 eggs, 12 mature, 5 fertilised and only 2 made it to blastocyst.

Crossing fingers for you. If this cycle doesn’t work out then definitely speak to your clinic about what they can do to help increase fertilisation on the next round.

but hopefully you won’t need it and this one will work for you xx

Hiya, I had a double transfer in Dec - both were classed as early blasts but not far along to be able to be given a grade so they just decide to transfer both for best chance. Currently 19 weeks pregnant from that transfer (one baby) xx

I just feel like when they said i had 12 eggs and were saying how great it was. It really changed the mood when they said we had 4 eggs remaining. I'm just saddened by the whole process. Definitely here's to us both i hope x

We will. Its just this round was NHS funded. I believe to try it again as like 11,000 which is not something I just have. I will have to figure out what we can do going forwards or what they can offer

Oooo that gives me a lot of hope. Thank you for sharing this. I hope this will be us too. I'm just counting down the days

@Nickeigh the whole thing is incredibly sad and difficult. It’s crazy how much can change in such a short period of time and that rollercoaster of emotions certainly leaves too whiplash. The only thing that gives me a bit of comfort is to think my body is the best place for them and if they’re going to grow anywhere it will be in me. We just have to be kind to ourselves- sending lots of baby dust your way ✨

@Nickeigh I know this is an old post but I am currently in this exact situation and really struggling. 12 eggs from egg retrieval and no blasts. My clinic transferred 2 embryos but I know my chances are so low. I. Already trying to prepare for bad news. But it doesn't help does it as you can't help but hope. Do you mind me asking what the outcome was please for you?
