Having a cold before sperm analysis/freeze

My partner is due to freeze another sample
of sperm in just over a week (we’re building up a stock due to such low numbers). His last freeze was December and we left it a while following eating better and cutting out caffeine etc. typically he’s woken up today with a blocked nose, sneezing and a headache. He doesn’t feel unwell enough to take medication but there’s still potentially a cold there.

Are we going to have to delay his freeze another 3 months now? 😬 knowing our luck he’ll pick something else up in those next 3 months.

So nervous as we had a consultation the following day to start treatment 😭

I would talk to your clinic but maybe a bit of a blocked nose and a bit stuffy he might be alright but I know a full blown cold/flu with high temps and things like that can sometimes have an effect on sperm quality or the count. I would just let the clinic know and just see how he goes over the next couple of days. Might just run its course pretty quickly.

@Miraclemuma03 its hard to gauge with men as they think they’re dying 😂 he’s woken up today completely fine so it was only the day he felt crappy. I’m not sure if he had a fever but he didn’t take any paracetamol etc. we were so close haha

@Cornish13 hahaha that is so bloody true. One day of stuffiness he might be alright especially if he is feeling better today. My fingers are xd all goes well
