High HCG level at day 14!

Hi All

I am currently 14 days post a 5 day fresh transfer on my 1st round of IVF.
My hcg at 12 days was 656 and today it is 1945 so it has risen significantly.
Does anyone have any experience with this being a bad thing?
I have had 2 previous miscarriages so am now worrying about molar pregnancies and other things that may cause HCG levels to rise so much in a short time.
Any comments would be welcome
Thank you 😀

Congrats on your positive test! Twins maybe?

browneyedgirl626 · 19/03/2025 16:06

Hi my first positive FET was hcg of 741 at around 10dp5dt which resulted in my 15 month old and this pregnancy (33 weeks currently) it was 602 at around the same time x

MinPinSins · 19/03/2025 16:07

Congratulations on the pregnancy! It's perfectly normal for hcg to more than double in 48 hours, and though a really good doubling rate, those are very normal numbers.

Molar pregnancy numbers are off the scale, this is definitely a good sign.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 19/03/2025 17:34

Congratulations- I think those results look really promising and it is hopefully reassuring to have some numbers. A quick google suggests that anything over 600 at 14dp5dt is a good indicator of ongoing pregnancy and it’s well within the normal range for 5 weeks which I think you just about are?

I’m a bit jealous of your blood tests data really. I’m currently 9dp6dt and spending a lot of time peeing on sticks and comparing the lines 😂

Hi everyone

Thank you so much for all of your messages and reassurances! I think I just still can't believe it's true after a lot of past trauma so am expecting/waiting for something to go wrong.
Your answers have all made me feel a lot better.
Thank you again x

Glad you are feeling a bit better. I do really get it. It’s so hard to trust your body when it’s betrayed you before. I assume your clinic are happy with your results. When is your scan?

Ngall24 · 20/03/2025 18:02

@PrincessofLiechtenstein
It's so true..i am just waiting for it to end at any moment.
My clinic are very happy with the bloods..they didn't actually want to do a second one but I insisted!
I have a scan booked for 2nd April so not too long left to wait..I will be nearly 7 weeks then. My 2 previous miscarriages were both at 7 weeks though so I think this is why I am so anxious early on!
Have you had any more luck with your tests? X

2nd of April isn’t too far away. But it must feel like a lifetime, the days really drag don’t they. And it must be extra stressful with both your losses around the same date Flowers

I’m doing my best to pull back on the crazy testing! Decided to only allow one test a day from now on 😂. Lines are progressing nicely and I keep trying to remind myself that the tests can only tell me if I’m pregnant now, they can’t predict if I’ll be pregnant next week!

Zypig · 21/03/2025 12:25

Hi Op, just thought I’d drop a message to say I totally get how horrible this wait is. I had it this time after a previous 8week MMC following FET and then a failed FET and I just had zero confidence in it all being ok (but it was). I actually ended up buying some really hard jigsaw puzzles so that if I had any chill time it focused my mind on something, otherwise I couldn’t stop obsessing over every detail even when I was trying to chill and watch TV or something. Honestly it did take the edge off! Good luck with everything.

Ngall24 · 27/03/2025 14:17

Hi @PrincessofLiechtenstein how are you getting on? Did you have your pregnancy confirmed?
@Zypig thank you for the advice..iv actually started trying to knit 😂but to be honest nothing really eases my mind. I just want it so desperately to all be okay, time is also going so very slowly at the moment!

I have actually tried both jigsaws and knitting this week as well. Great minds! 😂

My clinic just wanted a positive test 14dpt so I’m not getting bloods done. Waiting for a scan date in a couple of weeks.
