Should I be preparing for a miscarriage?

Sonographer said she was struggling to see a heartbeat, but that if she concentrated hard she thought she could see a flicker. This is 4 days after clearly seeing the heartbeat. Back in a week for another scan, should I be preparing for a miscarriage or is there any hope?

What upsetting inconclusivity from the sonographer. How far along are you and what is their skill level - was this an actual doctor?

Just over 7 weeks, this was a viability scan at my IVF clinic. She was a proper doctor but I didn’t feel confident. She did however get a second opinion and they said the same.

Can you book a private scan with a proper ultrasound technician who would be more skilled to do a viability scan and they have better technology then the ivf bedside scan. If the baby is in a tight spot it can be hard to see. I hope it was just a hard scan to see things properly. Our ivf clinic send us to private places if they struggle to see anything properly

I'm so sorry. Over 7 weeks you should see a clear heartbeat. It could be position etc, but I would really be guarding my heart.

Was it an internal scan?
