Completed first ICSI round - failed - any tips on frozen transfer

Hi all
Looking for hope and to regain my positivity during this process.
I started ivf/icsi in feb this year after trying to conceive naturally for 2 years. I’m 37 now.
we gained 15 eggs and it whittled down to 2 good embryos both good grades. I had a fresh transfer a couple of weeks ago that unfortunately failed - I did a pregnancy test on day 10 and 11 then my period came.
I haven’t tested again ( is that right not to?)
I have so many questions and I’m still learning - I’m hoping to use my frozen egg soon - any advice on how to ensure the best for implantation- I’ve read about embryo glue, the scratch, baby aspirin, acupuncture ??? Any advice would be helpful - I’m feeling sad and alone and the moment 🥲

Hi @Lozzabella I don't have loads of advice unfortunately but I'm in a similar position having just had a failed FET and feeling very low. Its so hard and I completely echo how you feel, I'm feeling very alone. I did tell close family and friends but not many people that we were having the transfer.

I've got a history of thin lining and scarring so I'm probably getting (another) hysteroscopy and then thinking about the EMMA/ALICE/ERA tests before attempting another transfer to cross off those options. Those act as a scratch anyway and I'm going to ask about embryo glue too!

I've been doing acupuncture for a while and I think it helped with stress/feeling like I was doing something helpful, even if it didn't work for me this time. Unfortunately there is just a risk of it not working even if you do everything right! It's such a hard process

Hi @Orangewillow

sorry to hear the same has happened to you. I keep thinking it’s not the end until I’ve done everything (obviously at a cost)
I haven’t had my consultation yet what’s a hysteroscopy involve?

it’s a very hard process - 🥲 all I feel is sadness right now. I was thinking about checking my tubes too - do you think that’s worth it . Yes def ask about embryo glue I’m not sure if my clinic does it but some do.

did you have genetic testing before transfer? heard this too ?

Thank you. Yeah I'm the same, I feel a bit like giving up at the moment but I won't until we've tried everything! It's just a very long hard process.

A hysteroscopy is a camera in the uterus to check if all looking OK- I've already had two as I've had scarring following surgery for a termination for medical reasons (TFMR) and my lining has been a problem since, hence another one to see if that's still an issue or not

Yeah I did an HSG saline scan to check tubes open and also have a look at my uterus, I did this last summer and got pregnant straight after but it was a chemical. If you're def doing IVF then I guess it doesn't matter whats happening wit the tubes really but for a chance at natural conception could be worth a look?

Yes I had genetic testing on my embryos. Because of my TFMR for chromosomal reasons, and then the chemical, I was worried about this - I'm also 38 now and the chances of genetically abnormal embryos goes up unfortunately so it seemed a good idea for us. I also hoped it would increase the chance of the frozen transfer working, sadly not in my case but generally the chances are much better! It is expensive but I'm glad we did it so at least I know the embryos I have in the freezer have a good shot

Thank you for this information. It’s so nice to hear it from someone who understands.
so many different things to consider, I wonder how people just get pregnant , I ask myself what im doing wrong everyday 🥲

I will potentially look at asking for a tube check- I haven’t been told anything abnormal
yet since the first one failed. I had hoped to get more on ice but I only have one and I haven’t had it tested - also I did find lymphatic drainage massage helpful for preparing my body it wa so relaxing and felt like it cleared my stress. 🥰
