I have been under a recurrent miscarriage clinic for the last 14 months after 6 miscarriages, 1 ectopic pregnancy and 1 molar pregnancy in the last 5 years. Everything has come back clear from them so far. We were due an appointment to discuss things further in January but the appointment was cancelled. I rung last week to chase up the clinic to be told it has been suspended for the time being due to staffing issues.
I have been growing increasingly concerned as I have previously always gotten pregnant quickly but for the last 10 months nothing. I have also turned 35. our NHS fertility clinic won’t see me as I am still under the recurrent miscarriage clinic but this is now suspended which has left me in limbo.
So I decide to check my AMH levels (which came back at 29.8pmol/l) and have a baseline fertility scan to give me some more information as to whether I need to explore fertility options or just keep trying.
But after the scan I am really confused and looking for advice before I drive myself mad with google! I have contacted 3 fertility clinics and awaiting a call back from them but it’s Friday night and I probably won’t hear back until Monday so thought I would try reaching out to the lovely mumsnet world.
The scan was done on day 3 of my cycle. No cysts or fibroids were found. Endometrium thickness as expected and anatomically no issues noted. BUT my left ovary is measuring 3.8cc this seems very small compared to the right ovary which was measuring 13.2cc. Should I be worried?
There was 6 follicles on the left ovary and 7 follicles on the right ovary. 13 overall which I thought was good until I looked at the measurements of the follicles. The range from 0.034mm to 0.245mm. Should they not be better than this on day 3 of my cycle?
has anyone experienced anything similar to this and gotten pregnant either naturally or through IVF?
Is this something that fertility treatment can help with? I dying waiting for the call back.
The sonographer advised me on leaving to see my GP and asked if I was planning on using egg donation for treatment which has really thrown me. Just looking for any guidance or advice please so I don’t lose it this weekend.
What should I do now?
i am 35 but otherwise very healthy with a BMI of 20.
Any advice is appreciated 💕
