Me and my partner have been TTC for 4 years. I had to get my BMI down which I finally did at the end of 2024. We had our second appointment yesterday and we're referred for IVF. My tests were all fine up to yesterday and my partner had low sperm count of 2.9mil per ML, 19% motile and 3% morph. All blood tests normal for him though.

Yesterday, I found out my AMH was 2.6pmol which for my age of 31 is very low.
Thankfully we have still been referred but I'm gutted. I've done so much reading on it and I get quality over quantity but I just feel so negative right now.

Hi OP,

I started freezing embryos from age 31 years due to low AMH (2.4-3.3pmol) and DH’s poor morphology (0-2%) and we knew our NHS referral would take a while. I attempted 5 collection rounds, 3 private & 2 NHS (3 were successful) and got 7 frozen embryos.

Im now 34 and started transferring the embryos last year. First transfer worked but then ended in MMC, second was BFN, third worked and now 33 weeks pregnant and all looks good.

Honestly, it’s a hard journey but I think given you’re young, you stand a really good chance.

Good luck!

Age is more important than AMH by a drastic degree. At 31, even if you only get 2 or 3 eggs you will have an ok chance. They'll probably use ICSI for you.

If you have any further work to do on your BMI that could help you further.

Good luck.
