Hello,

I'm doing my first round of ovulation induction for secondary infertility. I had a scan on Friday and nurse saw 3 follicles with the dominant one at 18mm and a good lining following 7 days of Letrozole. I triggered last night around 8pm with Ovitrelle and Decapeptyl. DTD last night and will do tonight (also did cd8 and 10). Is this me covered or is it worth doing one more tomorrow if ovulation can occur 36-40 hours after trigger? Also would the time matter? Could probably squeeze in a quick try around 3pm if that's better than the evening? If anyone is going through the same treatment and wants to keep me company in the TWW, let me know. 😊

Currently in the TWW and going crazy. 8DPO. How are you getting on?

Hey! I'm on my second round as first didn't work. I've added Cyclogest this cycle so we'll see. I had 2 follicles this time instead of 3 and at cd12 they were only 17 and 16mm so I was asked to trigger 2 days later. Hoping they grew a bit by then. I had a really thick lining this time which may or may not have been influenced by seed cycling - who knows. I'm on my 5th night of BD tonight in a row and I've been told to test after 12 days of Cyclogest. Trying my best to stay positive. I hope you get your BFP! X

Hey! Can I join?! I triggered this morning (CD14) after Letrozole CD2-6. Had the exact same scenario last month and resulted in a chemical pregnancy so I know it works (sort of) for me so fingers crossed it works again! We BD yesterday and will continue for another 3 days I think 🫠😅. My fertility dr also told me to start cyclogest on CD16, fingers crossed for us both!

secondtimelucky87 · 26/03/2025 15:38

Hello! Of course you can! Keeping everything crossed for you. I'm so sorry about the chemical. As you said though hopefully it's a sign it will work out at some point in the future. I have another week to go until I'm able to test and trying my best to stay positive. The Cyclogest isn't too bad either. Pretty used to it by now 😊

@secondtimelucky87 thank you! Yeah TTC is so consuming isn’t it! I feel like cyclogest is just a normal part of my cycle now 😅 We’re 2.5 years in trying for our second and each month I’ve obsessed over the pregnancy tests from about 7DPO but this month I’ve not bought any and I’m hoping I can hold out until 14DPO! When will you test?

sc1995 · 28/03/2025 20:58

@secondtimelucky87 if you don't mind me asking, why did your Dr start you on cyclogest? I haven't been offered a trigger shot. Just letrozole and follicle tracking. About to start round 2 as AF showed up today. How are you getting on?

@MyEdgyBlueLurker how are you getting on? omg the obsession of testing from 8DPO! The amount of money I've spent on ovulation test strips and pregnancy tests!

I've been trying over 2 years for a second too. Enormous solidarity to you - it's hard! I can't test until 14 days past trigger and 12 days on Cyclogest so that's Wednesday. I've had absolutely zero symptoms so no idea what to think! Not loving the cyclogest but my last progesterone test was slightly under 30 so I think it was worth a whirl! How are you doing?

Hello! I requested the cyclogest myself! Tbh after a combined 5 years of TTC between my first and second I just sort of feel like I need to throw everything at it. How are you doing? I'm paying for this privately but the treatment package includes all meds so figured I might as well ask for Cyclogest

@secondtimelucky87 Ahhh good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how you get on if you do decide to test!

yeah cyclogest is such a mess isn’t it! I feel like I wear more pads now than I do when I’m on my period 😅

Im still set on holding out to test, currently only 5DPO anyway but let’s see how crazy I feel by the weekend 😂

secondtimelucky87 · 01/04/2025 14:38

Hi ladies, hope you're ok. Unfortunately AF paid a visit last night so I'm out for this cycle too. I didn't even think you could get your period while on Cyclogest so that was a surprise. It arrived bang on at 12dpo as usual. I'm on my way to have my AMH checked again as it was 2.6 pmo/l 6 months ago so I guess it could be affecting things if it's dropped off a cliff even further. I really hope it hasn't as I'm desperate for another child. Not really sure what else I can do. I'm going to take a break from the medicated cycles in April to save some money and see if there's anything I can optimise. I'm not sure what though! Both on all the supplements. Test results normal. Tracking properly etc!

MyEdgyBlueLurker · 02/04/2025 13:26

@secondtimelucky87 Oh I’m so sorry!! This is such a rollercoaster isn’t it! When will you get your AMH results?

Yeah same with us, my doctors can’t really give me a reason why it’s not working for us, she doesn’t seem too bothered to check either as we’ve already got one child, so we’re not eligible for any assistance other than medication and cycle monitoring which she wants to stop in 2 months 🙈 We’re thinking of going to Turkey for ivf as it’s £3000 out there instead of £8000 at my hospital!

secondtimelucky87 · 03/04/2025 09:53

Thank you. It really is a massive pile of 💩 but what can you do? Yeah I got my AMH back straight away. It hasn't dropped off a cliff thankfully as it was 2.6 six months ago and is now 2.85. It's still too low (I'm 37 and those are normal levels at 40-44) but I've had 2 consultants tell me it doesn't affect natural conception. Have you and partner both had all relevant tests? There were one or two things on my husband's last SA that I think could be issues: slight clumping together and slightly raised PH. But apparently neither are a big deal and the count/motility were fine. I really don't know what else to do!

That sounds a good idea about trying IVF abroad if you can afford it. When do you think you'll go for it?

OP posts:
MyEdgyBlueLurker · 06/04/2025 10:38

@secondtimelucky87

Ahh that’s interesting, I might get mine done again, my last AMH was April 2024 and it was 25pmol which is apparently within range for my age (33 at the time) on some websites but it’s high on other websites which could indicate PCOS, my fertility doctor told me I had PCOS 5 years ago when trying for our first but she’s since changed her mind which is slightly concerning 😅

Yeah we’ve had most tests done, husbands SA indicated less than 1% morphology but a high count and we’ve been told by a few people this cancels each other out sort of 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’ve had tubes checked and all clear, lining is all good, other hormones seem fine but my cycles were long and inconsistent so the Letrozole has really helped with that and I now have predictable 28 day cycles which is great!

Did a test this morning at 10DPO and convinced myself there’s a very faint line, my husband said he can see it too but he may be humouring me as he knows how obsessed I get 🤦🏽‍♀️😅 took everything in my power not to do a second test with my second wee just now 😅

Theres a clinic called Antalya IVF in Turkey, they look great so far! They come to the UK every month and scan potential clients for free so we did that in Jan and made a plan to go there this spring but since the chemical we’re hesitant to pay for IVF when we know I can get pregnant with the trigger shot now! Would you consider going abroad?
