FET Medication protocol

Hello everyone

I was wondering if people were willing to share their FET medication protocol and whether they were success or failures

We just had our nurses meeting for our one and only frostie and she is advising oestrogen and then 3x pessaries a day. I'm concerned that pessaries alone will not be enough and was wondering if people found they bled early or had issues and needed to switch to injections. She has said they will test my progesterone before transfer and maybe give lubion

My acupuncture who knows the clinic well said that as this is our only chance we shouldn't risk not going with the shots as well but as this is under NHS I'm not sure if they will allow us to.

Feeling like we should push back but don't think they will let us

Hi @Anniekent1 have you had a previous transfer or is there a reason behind the high progesterone dosage? Oestrogen works hard on establishing your lining too so they work together. If they are going to test your progesterone before transfer then it sounds like there crossing the ts and dotting the i's.

I had an unsuccessful fresh transfer and a very recent successful frozen transfer. I am on 2 pessaries a day and was on 6mg, then 8mg, now 10mg of oestrogen per day. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant so it's hard to say how things will turn out but so far so good.
Hope your transfer goes well. I know how much is riding on all of this xx

Hi @Eagerlywaiting1990

Congratulations on your positive how exciting (but probably nerve wracking ) for you!

No this is my first transfer but I don't have a long leutal phase and my acupuncture said the injections were better than pressures. they were better so was wondering if there was a harm in pushing them for it. As it's my only frozen I just don't want to leave stone unturned.

There's always something to worry about at each stage of this 😅

@Anniekent1 yeah I guess there isn't any harm in pushing for it. I don't think you can have too much progesterone and I know how valuable your little one will be. Maybe enquire about it and see what they say. If they test it and think it's fine though I'd trust them - it's in their interests to get you pregnant too 😍 xx

Exactly this , even if I just speak to them to put my mind a rest and ultimately take their advice. Just a natural worrier and want the best chance ☺️

Wishing you all the best and continued baby dust for the rest of your pregnancy !

Hi Op,

for what it’s worth I did 3 FETs with the NHS via UCLH. The standard protocol they offer includes x2 cyclogest pessaries a day AND x2 lubion 0.25 injections a day starting 5 days before transfer. Every time they tested my progesterone the morning of the transfer and it was very high >190, but even then they didn’t tell me to reduce my dosage (the first time I queried this as it was so high and they said they wanted it high). So I presume they only ever add more progesterone on top and don’t reduce down.

good luck!

@Anniekent1 you're absolutely right, ask all the questions and seek all the reassurance...that's their jobs and you will have very precious cargo on board. 😍

Thanks lovely, hope your cycle goes really well and you get your little baby 💗xx

Im going into my 6th FET, this time I am taking Letrozole cycle day 2-6. From cycle day 2, 1 Clexane injection and 2 baby aspirin. Then once ovulation occurs I will be on 1 lubion and 2-3 cyclogests daily. I still sometimes spot after ovulation, even with all that progesterone.
