Does anyone know how the timeline for a frozen transfer would work?

I've got a few frozen euploid embryos but I'm delaying a transfer because I'm going on a trip in late Feb where carrying and doing all the injections will be impractical, so I will start on my March cycle. The thing is, it's looking like my March period will come before I am back from the trip, so I may have to delay until April. Backing out of the trip is not an option (with family who don't know about ivf, would cause more drama than it's worth), I know in theory one month makes zero difference but I'm really struggling to wait as things are and another month feels impossible. Will I be able to manipulate my period a little to start later so I can do it in March or will I just have to wait for my period to arrive? Never done a frozen transfer before!

Yes, you should be able to delay your period - my clinic did with me due to their transfer cycles and I was prescribed Norethisterone, which you could look up. I would get going ASAP so you can be sure you've got time to get the prescription and work out timings!

It depends on your protocol, but I only had to take oestrogen tablets from the 2nd day of my period, then progesterone pessaries 5 days before transfer. The tablets were easy to carry around & discreet to take, so I started while I was on holiday. Good luck x

Similar to above just had tablets and pessaries at first so very straightforward. Introduced first injections around day 6 but all pre-made so not much faffing about.

Dont know if this matters to you at all if you do skip march you’d be avoiding Christmas (if bfp 🤞) I’ve heard people purposely skipping march for that reason. That’s not an issue for me personally but sharing in case it’s even a tiny bit helpful.

@Strawberrryfields did you need any scans before you started injections? As naturally I won't be able to scan from day 1 of my period until my return. Day 6 I'm still on hols :(

@sashawithaquestion my clinic wanted to do a baseline scan on day 2-5 for a natural or modified natural cycle, because if the clinic being closed over Christmas I had baseline scan on day 6/7 which was fine - that cycle got cancelled due to thin lining, an issue I'm still dealing with, but it might be possible to start later, worth asking! I've been in for pretty frequent scans, initially a week after baseline and then 4 days apart after... but not sure if everywhere does this, worth seeing what your clinic are expecting and rhen see what might work around your holiday plans as it could work out!

Sorry I actually made a mistake (got frozen and fresh cycles muddled up with the timings, unfortunately not my first rodeo!) For my fet I’ve actually taken estrogen tablets and injections (injections for a week) from day 1/2 then a scan on day 11/12. Then progesterone from day 14. 5 full days of progesterone before transfer. I didn’t need a baseline scan right at the start as I’d had another one fairly recently.
Your timelines might be different but maybe gives a rough idea. Ask your clinic what your protocol is. Hope you don’t have to wait too long, this whole process is so much waiting 🤞

Depends on protocol. I'm on a modified natural cycle for frozen embryo transfer and don't see doctors/nurse until around day 10 of cycle. I just had to call on day one of cycle to get booked in
Day 10 scan to see if close to ovulation, bloods done on same day. If levels okay and lining and follicle right size then trigger injection and start progesterone pessaries three days later. Transfer is a week after trigger injection
