Cycles getting shorter

Hey all I am aged 23 and last month my period came 6 days early normally I have a 31 day cycle and have done since a teenager. Now this month I have started my period again today, 26 days ago was the start of my last period ?? Is this a sign of anything at all. I'm really anxious and concerned I don't know what to do x

I think lots of things can affect your period like stress or over exercising. My cycles have varied from 22 days to 28 in the last year.

My understanding is that docs don’t usually get concerned unless your cycle is regularly very short or long (which I’ve read is less than 21 days or more than 40). Many women don’t have the “standard” 28- 31 days and/ or can fluctuate month to month. But if your cycle keeps getting shorter each month then imo it’s worth mentioning to your GP just in case.

If you are concerned about it from a fertility perspective, have you done ovulation tests to check you are still ovulating? That would be more important than a 26 day cycle length to me (25 -28 days is my own typical cycle length personally and all it meant was I often ovulated a day or two earlier than “average”).
