What to Expect After Multiple Back-to-Back Egg Retrievals?

I’m about to undergo my final back-to-back egg retrieval (my fifth in a row) as I wanted to bank enough euploid embryos for my desired number of children. Since stories of five consecutive retrievals seem rare on here, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Has anyone else gone through this many back-to-back cycles? I’m starting to wonder if I may have caused any irreversible long term damage to my body from such an extended period of hormone stimulation.
  2. What should I expect in terms of my next few periods? I know I’ll likely have a withdrawal bleed 5–7 days after retrieval, but what comes next? Will my cycle return to its usual 28 days, or should I expect it to be longer or shorter? And what about the period after that, will things regulate quickly, or could it take a while?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s experienced something similar!

Hi @sashawithaquestion I've not had the same experience as you as I only did 2 egg collections back to back, but I woukd have done a 3rd which my consultant was fine with, he didn't have an issue with back to backs from a physical perspective (although when I was talking about going straight into a 3rd he was like, maybe take a break for your sanity?! I'd gone a bit mad on the hormones!) But in theory it would have been fine.

My first proper period after 2nd egg collection (so not the bleed a week after, the one following) was about 5 days late, I'm usually very regular with short cycles. The first was a bit out of whack but then went back to my normal pattern pretty quickly, I've stopped BBT tracking and ovulation strips so not entirely sure if that's the same as before but my overall cycle length has been similar
