Bereavement Support Midwife - anyone been?

2 MCs in six months in 2024 last one being in December.
I was told that my trust has a bereavement support midwife that I could contact if I needed to talk as well as the miscarriage association leaflets etc.
I'm struggling at the moment - I find I can hold myself together during the day but cry at night and nobody knows only me (husband in bed early due to working shifts and toddler in bed) I know I need to do something but I don't know what.
I'd be grateful if anyone can offer any advice or experience if they've used this service x

No advice but sending hugs. What an awful 6 months for you. It sounds like taking up the offer of support would be a good idea.

Thank you ❤️ it's just such a lonely place. I don't know anyone who I can speak to who has been through this - my husband says he understands but he doesn't, he can't. Not in the same way.
I feel like my body is broken and I don't know how to fix it and I don't have the time left to do it either. I need to speak to them I think. Thanks 🙏🏻

I'm sure there will be people on here who have gone through similar.

Have you been offered any help with investigating why it has happened?

Definitely get some support. This whole journey is so hard on mental health.

I’m so sorry @landobroken, I don’t have any experience of a bereavement midwife but I have had counselling after 2 miscarriages. It’s not a magic wand, but it has really helped me. I would really encourage you to accept the help. Miscarriages can be extremely isolating & I just don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through it can truly understand the impact on your entire life & self confidence. Take care of yourself ❤

Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say that I went to my GP today and I feel a bit better having come away with an action plan - I'm going to get full bloodwork done and have been referred for MH help.

It's so true - I have some amazing friends and family but I think until you experience this you don't quite understand. ❤️

Well done you. I'm sure that wasn't easy. Glad to hear you're getting some support. ❤️
