Letrazole advice!

Hi all
I’ve been prescribed three rounds of letrazole and progesterone supplements. Due to start taking day three, tomorrow. Doctor said to DTD on days 8-18. But DH is abroad from day 15!!! Should I wait until next cycle or still worth a shot?
I usually ovulate on day 20, so the letrazole needs to bring ovulation forward by about five days. Is this even possible?! Would appreciate any advice or thoughts!

Do you track your ovulation? This is my first month taking Letrozole and I’m not usually a serial tester, but this month I have been just to see if the OPKs think I’m ovulating, though still DTD every other day. My app thinks I should ovulate around day 15 and today is day 11. No sign from OPKs that my ovulation date has been brought forward so far…

But to answer your question sorry, I would still take this month too as you never know! I’ve also heard (purely anecdotally so no evidence it’s true) that Letrozole takes a few months to kick in, so I wouldn’t delay the first round personally

Thanks. That’s what I heard too. So I did actually start this month. I’m on day four of my tablets. Have been feeling sick in the mornings for a bit but otherwise noticed no difference at all yet. But yes I do test ovulation and will do this month. Will be interesting to see!

Are you starting progesterone supplements too?

Good luck!

No, they’ve not given me any progesterone, just the Letrozole but I might ask if I should be taking that too!

Got a peak OPK this morning on day 13 so doesn’t seem to be much change from when I’m usually supposed to ovulate so far!

Thanks for sharing. Fingers crossed for you! Definitely worth asking when you speak to them next

(I meant suppositories not supplements - v different lol)

How are you getting on? I just got peak on day 13 too. Instead of day 19! Wild. Start progesterone tomorrow…

I’m about 7dpo I think. I’m trying to manage my own expectations as I don’t feel any different at all this month to usual but I can’t help getting my hopes up slightly!
I think I may contact the fertility clinic next cycle and ask about going on progesterone too. I also want them to do some tests to check the medication is working!

Mumontherunn · 08/02/2025 22:37

Definitely a good idea to call them @PinkFlamingo888 - good luck! I have had really full on ovulation pains this month lasting about three days. What dose are you on? I’m on 7.5

OP posts:
PinkFlamingo888 · 09/02/2025 05:37

I’m only on 2.5 and haven’t really noticed a difference!
Why are you on it? (If you don’t mind me asking!)
My most recent bloods said I wasn’t ovulating, but past ones have done and my periods are always regular and exactly the same, so I’m very confused about what’s actually going on!

Peonies94 · 11/02/2025 21:46

@PinkFlamingo888 good luck this month! Are you doing this privately or NHS? Wishing you all the best!
I have 2 months of Letrazole from a previous pregnancy left, but nhs wait times are over a year for even a scan! Going to start taking them next month once I have a period, but have been looking into private clinics but can’t find any that offer ovulation induction cycles, only IVF and IUI which I’m hoping I won’t need!

PinkFlamingo888 · 11/02/2025 22:59

@Peonies94 did you get pregnant on the Letrazole last time? How long did it take?

Mine is through NHS, which I’m very grateful for! I have 6 months worth of tablets so I’ll hoping I get pregnant soon and can then save the rest for number 2! Although they do seem to have an expiry date.

My period is due any day and I feel no different but I’m still crossing everything that it doesn’t come!

PinkFlamingo888 · 16/02/2025 20:58

@Mumontherunn how are you getting on? Onto round 2 of Letrazole for me! I’m not too disappointed as I didn’t think it would work month 1 anyway!

In my TWW of round one but not feeling very pregnant tbh! In my head this one isn’t the one either. Did you have day 21 blood test? I’m waiting for results at the mo.

Good luck! @PinkFlamingo888

@Mumontherunn no, they’re not doing any tests or scans until month 3! I called them to try and get seen quicker but they weren’t really interested. I just don’t want to be wasting time if the dose is too low but I suppose I’ll just have to be patient.
I could try and get tests privately but for the sake of another month I’m probably best saving the money in case I need it further down the line!

That’s so frustrating. Everything feels so slow and frustrating when TTC. But keep at it. Good luck!
I think 7.5 Letrozole and the progesterone suppositories might have worked for me. I had a chemical pregnancy over Christmas so definitely not getting too excited but this is this morning

Letrazole advice!

@Mumontherunn aaaahh that’s so exciting! Congratulations! Fingers crossed that it all works out! Were you on the same dose with the chemical?

Thank you. I’ve got everything crossed. I wasn’t on anything when I had the chemical. Lots of luck to you too - keep me posted x
