From oligotozoospermia to normal without really trying?! (Also round celle)

Has anyone had this?!

My partner had semen analysis around this time last year - Feb/March 2024 and the outcome was oligotozoospermia. I have set out below a few of the main results, what would be normal and what he has now tested as Jan 2025 (almost all normal apart from a large amount of round cells which could mean infection or immature sperm cells - we are yet to have our consultation so will obv ask then but I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience of this).

To be honest, there's not been a huge change in anything he did between then and now, except mainly alcohol - from drinking normally/heavily on nights out to now barely drinking and maybe just a few drinks rarely. Also I think he had been using hot tubs fairly regularly last year and that's tailed off now. But still, so strange to go from essentially "big problem with sperm" to "normal sperm" - albeit the round cells could still be some sort of issue..

Issues 2024 result Normal range 2025 result
Density 0.8m more than 15m 42.3m
Total count 1.2m more than 39m 80.37m
Morphology 1% at least 4% 4%

It's almost made me worry they've tested the wrong sperm this time! But hopefully not! Could it really just be alcohol and less hot baths!? I mean, really?!

Also, any advice/experience of the large number of round cells?

TIA

sorry my attempt at a table hasnt really worked so I'll write them again

Density should be more than 15m, in 2024 it was only 0.8m and now it's 42.3m
Morphology should be greater than or equal to 4%, in 2024 it was 1% and now it's 4%
Total count should be more than 39m, in 2024 it was 1.2m and now it's 80.37

All the other results are also now normal, except this increased number of round cells..

No advise but following out of curiosity to be honest! Amazing if all is correct! I don't how much of a difference it would make but was he poorly when he had this first SA done? My partners results were very similar last year but he's had a varicocele procedure since, we should get the results for his newest SA next week!! X

I know, it's so strange.. I've just read the other thread though about last minute change at EC for another poster and it seems that her partner was going to have ICSI as he had similarly bad results but then come EC, the sample provided was fine/good and they said not needed! It was also mentioned/asked if he'd been ill at the time of the first sample... so perhaps that played a role with my partner's first semen analysis? Will ask at the consultation later today.. we have only had those two semen analyses though, so I guess either one could be wrong... :/
