Hi everyone! I am just after a bit hope/advice.

me and my partner have been ttc for 3 years. From tests I am okay and seems to be is it male factor
first test 4 million sperm count
most recent test 26 million.

we are currently going through treatment for ivf/icsi (they are deciding on the day of collection when they collect the sperm if to do ivf or icsi.

i am just after some first time success stories? My partner has a 10 year old daughter so we are paying and it is a lot of money.
I am worried that I haven’t done enough to help this be a positive outcome. I am just after some advice or support from people in my boat.

thank you

Jade

Hey Jade!

Me and my partner had our first successful transfer on 3rd attempt. I dont feel like I did anything in particular on this round to help, I reckon it's all timing and keeping yourself as stress free as possible. I know its easier said than done but don't put too much pressure on yourself!

Keep positive always! All the luck in the world to you both!

I hope everything goes well for you! ICSI worked for me and my partner first time.

Bit of back story: My partner and I were TTC for 3 years before we started the NHS IVF journey (hit by COVID delays, having to repeat tests etc) I had low AMH, but my partner was azoospermic after his first test, after diet and lifestyle changes (and waiting 6 months!) his sperm increased to a few million (can't remember exactly) so we qualified for ICSI. I then had a positive smear test, so had to get that sorted before starting anything, and then redo monitoring scans and blood tests and his semen analysis because they were not recent enough to use for the funding application!!!

So 4 years after first going to the Dr, we qualified for ICSI in July 2024.
23 eggs collected
17 mature
10 made it to blast.

Had a fresh transfer and froze the other 9.

I am currently in my third trimester!

I was very prepared for it to not work with the first transfer, especially after the process took so long to even get started. I just kept thinking that until someone told me it hadn't worked I could be hopeful that everything was going to work out. I kept thinking that the success rate for women my age was 1 in 3, so it does work first time for so many women and there was every possibility it could be me.

Hi, I'm currently pregnant after our first round of ICSI treatment. I wasn't sure it would work because we had quite a low fertilisation rate, but the one good blast that developed has stuck, so far at least! If things look good with you then your odds should be reasonable, particularly if age is on your side.
