Egg freezing

I really don't know whether to freeze my eggs. I'm 32, single for 5 years now. I don't know if I want children. I have the money in savings although it would wipe my savings out almost completely. I really don't know what to do. I feel like if I knew I definitely wanted children I would but if not it's a lot to spend and a lot to put my body through. I'm sorry if this was the wrong place to post but it was the closest subject I could find.

I had a pregnancy scare a couple of months ago where I thought if I had been and it had been with a stable partner then I would have kept the baby.

If I could give my younger self advice .. it would be to collect a few rounds of my younger eggs .. it’s not that bad of a procedure (I have done it 3 times) if you get to my age (41) and you do want kids you will kick yourself for not having a better chance with your younger eggs, you may think of the costs at the minute but ivf could take longer , more tries to work with older eggs due to higher rates of abnormal chromosomes, so it could save you money really by having a back up incase you want to do ivf later in life as you have higher rates of success with younger eggs- hence you might not need so many shots at it (and save money) ? That’s just my thoughts on it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ hopefully, if you wanted children later .. you won’t need to go through ivf and fall naturally, but at lest you have a back up ?! Take care

I'm 31 and in early menopause! Just had a 3rd round of ivf my eggs are terrible.. if I knew this would of happen I would of froze my eggs at 20 but obviously that was the last thing on my mind at that age 😵‍💫

I'm sorry, that sounds really difficult to be going through.
I'm really in two minds whether to see if I meet anyone and/or want kids in the next few years (basically pre 35) or whether to just take the plunge now. I probably would if it wasn't so much money but as I say, it would basically use all my savings and then the added financial commitment of paying for storage every year.

Knowing what I know now, being 36 with a RUBBISH reserve, I’d have invested in freezing my eggs for a future.

I thought I didn’t want kids until I met my current partner and as they say, hindsight is a wonderful thing

@Clocloxx what is your AMH if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve just had total fertilisation failure and my crappy eggs are getting the blame!

It was 3 over 2 years ago I refused to test it again! I'm sorry about the total failed fertilization that's terrible it happened in my 1st round of ivf too! Did they use icsi? My last round of ivf I had a better outcome but I done ovarian PRP, ubiquinol 600mg daily 2mg melatonin and lower dose of stims! I actually made 2 low quality blastocysts xx

@Clocloxx - I had anticipated the cycle failing as I know it often can on the first cycle, but had never crossed my mind that we’d fail at the first hurdle 😞 My AMH is 1.9(!), managed 4 mature eggs

It was with ICSI which worries me even more that I’ll happen again!

We’re changing protocols and medications. And added in DHEA, melatonin, ulbiquinol, omega 3, vitamin D alongside pre-conception vitamins.

We go again with long protocol on CD 21 of my next cycle so February some time and to say I’m petrified of a repeat failure is an understatement

I only had 4 eggs on my first too! My next one was worse with only 2 eggs both deteriorated, with the change of stims and lower dosage I got 8 mature!
Your next cycle could be completely different and it's great you are changing so much from the 1st round! You're supplements sounds great too! Stay positive ✨️
