Hi everyone. A question. I get that to have IVF you should have a certain BMI. But my partner needs to lose 14 stone even before she has a fertility tests. Eg. Egg checked. Is this right?

It might depend on the clinic. I did it all privately and I had to be around a bmi of 35, the reason they gave me was that it would be harder to see on the scan

OK I didn't think of that. The fact ir might be harder to see. My partner just feels so down. She's already lost 3 stone. We are in a female relationship. The thing is if only we knew a guy who could provide the goods. Cos she may actually get pregnant.

I think... but I could be wrong as we had to go private, that you can be referred but can't start treatment until your weight is down, that can take a year or so, so she can try And lose weight in the meantime
