WWYD? January transfer

hello ladies. Just looking for an advice of wwyd in my situation. turnind 38 in week's time. awaiting PGTA testing results. should have tehm back on my birthday out of all days. Anyway, it seems that if all ok embryo transfer should be in January. Obviously Christmas in between. It's been really shitty year so I would love to let my hair down and enjoy myself a bit. However, I'm bit concerned if that could negatively affect the outcome of my next transfer. My next period should be just around or just after Christmas. I'm not planning anything crazy but just enjoy some prosecco, champagne and mulled wine kind of thing.

Hi @CoCoaButter85

I have recently had an ivf cycle and all being well will have a FET in January.

Personally,I feel that I will eat and drink whatever I fancy in December (within reason lol)

I found IVF physically and mentally draining,if I fancy a glass of red and some blue cheese during this break then I will have it 😂

hope you are doing ok,it’s a difficult journey ❤️

@Cosyseason1234 thanks for getting back! I've gone through one collection and 3 unsuccessful transfers. So in a way I've built a thick skin by now but on another hand this is my last attempt (financially and psychologically I feel it's time to stop after this) so I should give it my all. It all depends on how many embryos get back normal. If you have any tips on how to cope better I'm all ears!

I do like your attitude though! I think I might just enjoy myself too. Will not go over the top with enormous hangover the next day but will certainly have fun!

I’m so sorry to hear you have had 3 unsuccessful transfers,IVF really is so difficult.

We said one collection and no more. We are self funding and can’t justify anymore and to be honest I don’t think I could go through it again! Physically I found stims and EC fine, it is just the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it.

got everything crossed for you that you get some good embryos!

@Cosyseason1234 - the cost is horrendous. Completely agree with you on the approach. Surprisingly so far I am ok emotionally (the first egg collection + transfers were worse as I actually had high hopes). And currently I'm going in with the attitude that it will be fine whichever way things go. Maybe it helps being busy with work, excited about Xmas etc..

Good luck to you too! My friend and her sister got pregnant at the first go so it is possible 🌸

We are the same! If all fails we go on a lovely exotic holiday in 2025 😂 hope you are enjoying December so far 🎄 feeling very grateful to have 3 embryos in the freezer and have booked a little break for next week, much needed!

@CoCoaButter85 I've just literally had my nurse planning appointment and hour ago for my cycle starting mid Jan. Her words to me without me prompting where "please enjoy Christmas, have a drink, your embryos are safe in the freezer". So id say go for it!
