Evening all,
I’m 32, on cycle 8 of TTC baby 2, although it’s technically been a whole year since we first started trying as my periods can be very irregular.
As such my husband and I are now having initial fertility testing via the GP.
My blood test results received today have indicated hyperthyroidism. The level is apparently only just outside the normal range, and the GP has suggested it could be related to having Covid a few weeks before the test.
So I’m going back for another blood test in a few weeks to check before any further steps.
But I’ve also just been diagnosed with PCOS and the GP is making a separate referral for me to gynaecology. He’s going to find out whether I could be prescribed metformin via the surgery in case the wait for gynaecology is a long one.
It’s been a lot to take on board today and I just wondered if anyone else has successfully conceived with hyperthyroidism, and/or PCOS?
I know I’m living proof that a PCOS pregnancy can happen - my son was conceived on cycle 2 back in 2020, but still feeling a little anxious and would be glad to hear your experiences.
Thanks everyone,
x
