Infection in uterus, reason for miscarriages?

Hi

I have had 6 miscarriages in the last 5 years, 2 natural conception and 4 thought IVF.
I recently got a biopsy of the endometrium as part of testing for the reasons for the miscarriages, which came back positive for a bacterial infection in my uterus, so the IVF clinic will give me antibiotics to clear this.

my question is, has anyone else with infertility issues had an infection in the uterus then after clearing this, had a successful birth ? Could this be the reason for the miscarriages ?

Any success or unsuccessful stories / feedback would be appreciated, thanks

I’m so sorry for your losses, that is an extremely difficult journey to go through and I am sending you lots of love.

I wanted to ask what antibiotics the clinic have given you? I have had 5 miscarriages and not found any issues yet - I do want to look into the endometrium testing

Hi, sorry you also have been through so many miscarriages, yes they gave me ‘metronidazole antibiotics’ I had to take these two a day for 5 days 🤷🏼‍♀️ I assume it’s cleared up the bacterial infection ? The bacteria was ‘gram positive bacilli’.. I also am going to start taking ‘optibac’ supplements which can help balance your microbiome in the vagina /uterus .. hopefully this change might help ? I would recommend having the environment within the uterus checked through an endometrial biopsy if you can.. it’s a really quick procedure and not sore at all. Best of luck to you 🧡

There's a thread on here called Emma / ALICE, think they're on thread 10. Loads of info in there from women in similar situations.
