IVF medication in UK if FET done abroad

Hi all,
I had my FET abroad earlier in November, I am very grateful that it was successful and I am now pregnant. However I was given meditation (prednisolone, progesterone supplements and estrofem pills) only to last until the first scan date (beginning of Dec) as, obviously, on the day on transfer no one knew the result.

I am not planning to go abroad to the clinic for the scan, just wondering if the GP would prescribe me the meds I need?

Hi what dose was your prednisolone? I think with the correct paperwork and plan you can most likely speak to your g.p for a prescription for most of these if they are available. With prednisolone they'll probably try to keep it maximum 20-25mg I think because of the significant issues that can arise with higher and longer duration dosages. Congratulations 🎊 can I ask which clinic you used abroad and whether this was your first cycle?x

My clinic in Spain just wrote another prescription after the scan and I got the medication via Fertility2U, or whichever provider they partner with in the UK.

hi, i have to take prednisolone 10mg per day. I have enough for approximately 30 more days, which would be just before 10wks, and I am unsure how long do I need to take these for.
I used clinic IVF RIGA in Latvia, this was my first FET this time, and I have twins born in 2017 also from the same IVF cycle. I couldn’t recommend them enough. x

I think your g.p should be able to prescribe that to you. Did you take this in the cycle you were pregnant with the twins (double congratulations) because if you've used it before it will more or less be same time line. I think you taper down gradually from 10mg to 7.5mg to 5mg and then 2.5mg. Best to get that double checked with your clinic and get that information across to your g.p and theyl be able to do a prescription for that. X

You should be able to get this prescribed here by a GP if your abroad clinic don't issue antoher? My abroad clinic were happy to but also, i did once visit a Private GP / Clinic where they easily prescribed me what I wanted!!
