Letrozole cycle 1

Hi all,

I have been TTC baby #2 for nearly 2 years now. Fell pregnant with my first straight away but after having him I was told i now have pcos and thats why my periods are irregular etc.
anyway, I am seeing a private fertility specialist and am on my first round of letrozole 5mg, (currently on 3rd day of taking letrozole) I am also supposed to take a trigger shot and have been given cyclogest for post ovulation.
wanted to get other people’s experiences and success stories or what they found difficult etc!

Hope all goes well with your first round :-)

Can I ask do you know why you were given 5mg? I am currently on 2.5mg and i don't feel it is working however clinic have said no to increasing and im not sure why as 5mg seems quite common.

@BecksStory hi!

i was given 5mg from the start didn’t try with 2.5. My Dr said it needed they will up the dose if I am not pregnant. I think it depends on the Dr. Are you being seen privately or through the NHS— maybe the nhs starts at a lower dose. hope 2.5mg does work for you!!

Thanks for getting back to me. I get mine through a private clinic, so not sure why they have only given me 2.5mg. I have an appointment coming up so I'm going to raise it again.

thanks! I am currently on cycle day 11 today and had a follicle scan on day 9. She said i have a dominant follicle and should trigger on Saturday but my Lh strips are not getting darker. Clear blue does have a flashing smiley but i feel as though that may be due to high esteogen from the letrozole. Lets see really hoping for it to work out well. Good luck on your cycle really hoping for the best outcome for you too!!

I conceived in 2021 (on letrozole) and I had a dominant follicle (16mm) on CD10 and ovulation strips were still faint/barely showing anything right up until CD15 when they suddenly showed a peak, so maybe yours will show a peak in a few days. Sounds very promising anyway!

I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread. How did you get on with the cyclogest post ovulation?
