Compacted morula, no blastocysts

My husband and I had our first Embryo transfer today. I had 7 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilised but today when we went for our day 5 transfer none of them had developed to blastocysts. Our best were a compacted morula and a partially compacted morula. The clinic suggested putting both back which we agreed to but we are just so downhearted and feel we stand no chance! Does anyone have any positive outcomes or success stories in a situation like ours?

I had a first round like yours and BFN. Then a second round with no embryos. Took a step back and tested my hormone levels (including testosterone - ended up on DHEA), my DH DNA fragmentation and a strict fertility diet for 3 months. Next 3 rounds got 2 AA blasts - 1 failed transfer 1 frozen, 3 AA blasts (1 abnormal, 1 mosaic, 1 normal - 25 weeks with this embryo) and , 1 BB blast (my toddler).

my advice would be more testing before going again along with a better protocol.

Sorry not quite the same, we had a morula and a very poorly graded blast, put them both in, I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant, I don't know which of the two took (or if both did yet). The clinic wouldn't advise to give it a go if they did not think there was a chance of sticking, just means the chances are a bit less. I have everything crossed for you x

Thank you both and @wateringcanface congratulations on your BFP, bet you can’t wait for that first scan x

@ThatAlertSquid absolutely. Out of 8 eggs we got one morula embryo - I’m 32 weeks on Saturday! It’s very hard not to be disheartened, but it does happen - wishing you all the luck in the world.

Thanks so much @LouP87 i think I had in my head either a couple of blastocysts or nothing suitable to transfer. I didn’t think about the in between. All the best for your new arrivals xx

I follow an account on instagram 'whatwegandidnext'... they recently transferred 2 morulas, both implanted, unfortunately one didn't work out but they are now over 12 weeks pregnant. Definitely take a look at their page, the comments on their post at the end of August may help reassure you with others who had the same. Don't lose hope (easier said than done I know). Good luck x

Thanks so much @poppiggy i will take a look xx

Hi,
I know this is an old post but we’ve just received the same news. 13 mature eggs, 6 fertilised via ICSI and all survived to day 3 with good grading. Today is day 5 and transfer day but no blasts… heartbroken is an understatement.
4 of the embryos are deteriorating and 2 of them are a day behind in growing (at the partially compacted stage). They’ve suggested putting in both but I can’t help but feel like it’s simply prolonging the pain/failure of it all.
Nice to hear some positive stories but I know the realities 💔
