Fibroid surgeons in London?

Hi all,

I have quite a history with fibroids and am convinced they are the cause of infertility/miscarriages.

I've had two hysteroscopic resections in the past with two different doctors but they never removed all of the fibroids, only the submucosal component. Unfortunately, the submucosal ones are back a year after surgery and in addition I've a number of small intramural. I've been separately advised to have laparoscopic or abdominal surgery to ensure they are removed fully before doing my next FET.

I'm interested in hearing from ladies in a similar boat with any experiences of fibroid surgery and if so, who their consultant was.

I am terrified at thought of an invasive surgery like this given the risks. It's important I pick the right consultant so I don't end up doing more harm than good

Thanks in advance,

B x

Hi Bella, did you find anything out?

Hi Bella, did you find anything out?

Hi @KittyButtercup , I ended up having one more hysteroscopic resection with a surgeon I've seen previously as he didn't think I needed the invasive abdominal surgery. My next FET was successful post surgery and I'm now 20 weeks pregnant.

That’s fantastic. I’m really happy for you! Would you mind sharing - here or via DM - who your consultant was for the procedure?

Absolutely! The name is Isaac Manyonda at the Parkside Hospital. He has done/overseen two of my surgeries and I am so glad he talked me out of the invasive surgery. I trust his opinion completely.
