Hi all,

I am in another thread (IVF/ICSI October) but would like to get some reassurance/thoughts from others if possible!

just had my day 2 call following egg collection on Wednesday, I had 16 eggs collected, of which 11 were mature. 8 have fertilized. At this stage (day 2) they expect 2-4 cells. The grading I was given is (which is slightly different to others grading which is strange!) :
1 with 2 cells. A-B
3 with 3 cells. 1 A-B, 2B
4 with 4 cells. 1 A-B, 2B and 1B-C

Worried I have no "just A"s, and that the drop off rate from day 2 to day 5 is so significant after an already big drop from the original 16 eggs.

Anyone with similar numbers go on to get blastocysts/successful transfers? xx

Hi, sorry I do not have as much of a breakdown of mine.

I had 16 eggs, 8 fertilised. By day 3, 7 were described as poor, one was described as fair. By day 5, the fair had dropped to poor, and the rest were all looking very poor (not blasts), there was one that looked like it had a bit more potential than the others that was still a morula, so they transferred the only blastocyst (graded poor), and the morula. The rest had all arrested by the next day. I did not have good results on day 3 but had something to work with day 5.

Currently 5DP5DT, initially I was very pessimistic, however over the last couple of days I have had a slight change of heart and believe I am in with an okay chance of being successful.

@Rorograce thank you, its very early days (a day away from OTD) and currently getting positive pregnancy tests, so it's looking good.

21 eggs
18 fertilised
Day 5 3 eggs

1 3 B/B
2 3 B/C's

DD asleep next to me and 20 weeks pregnant.

Good luck

@PMAmostofthetime that's lovely to hear thank you xx
@Lil89 thank you xx
@wateringcanface how are you doing?

As an update, I had 2 blastocysts that were good quality. I had one transferred yesterday, and 1 is being frozen. There were apparently another 2 that might catch up but had the call today and they're not good enough quality.

The drop off is insane. praying for this little one inside me. test date is next friday so it's going to be a long wait!

@Rorograce

That is a great outcome! Well done. It is very reassuring to have one in the freezer.

@wateringcanface congratulations 9dp5dt was when I got my BFP on my DD. Good luck with the pregnancy. X

Rorograce · 08/11/2024 08:42

@PMAmostofthetime thanks :) I had my transfer on Monday so I think I'm 4dp5dt? Going crazy googling everything and what I should feel / what's happening. Should be implanting now right if everything's going to plan?

@Rorograce you'll drive yourself crazy but I know you won't be able to stop googling every little thing. I spent hours and hours doing it.

Try find an easy watch Netflix series to relax a little :)
