I was diagnosed with PCOS about 7 years ago. I got my symptoms and cycle under control with MyOva and acupuncture and conceived my DD, now 4.
Since my periods returned a year after I had my daughter, they've been like clockwork (bar one month) every 28 days which was shocking to me but obviously very welcomed!
We decided to start TTC again earlier this year, and lo and behold my cycles have gone crazy again, after years of being so healthy and regular when we weren't TTC.
I'm getting really bad cramps and PMS symptoms around day 27 which convinces me my period is about to arrive, but it doesn't and the cramps and sharp stabbing pains continue for weeks until I eventually bleed. I'm currently on day 30 and have felt like my period is about to come any second for the past few days. It's so frustrating! This is a PCOS raising its head again isn't it? Why would it come back after all this time?!
For those who suffer with PCOS, do you get these types of period pains as if it's about to arrive? Scientifically, why does this happen? Is it because your body is trying to release an egg? Or has the egg been released but your body can't break down the womb lining for some reason?
