Fat-friendly IVF and fertility clinics?

I am "obese" according to BMI and have been since I was a teenager despite being very sporty (then) and relatively fit (now).

I was upset to find that many fertility clinics refuse to accept patients where their BMI is over a certain threshold.

Can anyone recommend any clinics with a more open-minded approach i.e. higher cut-offs and an appreciation that BMI is not an good indicator of either risk or overall health?

I am based in south-east England so I'm guessing that the best chances of finding somewhere might be London....

[Please don't comment re weight loss or the clinics being right or wrong to use BMI as a measure.]

Thanks in advance 🙏

I think many private clinics accept up to BMI 35 rather than the 30 required by the NHS.

HFEA guidance generally only recommends IVF for patients with a BMI of 35 and under. There are some clinics that will do IUI or ovulation induction for BMI over 35. I don't know about clinics abroad.

I think most have an upper limit of 35. I've seen one in Bristol that will do up to 40, think it was called shady grove or something like that

CRGW in wales has always been known to take higher BMI (no limit), although worth checking as they were taken over by Care earlier this year x
