Hello, please can anyone who has been to the Newcastle centre of life for their IVF give me an overview of timelines? I have an appointment mid November which I think is to sign my consent forms so I’m just wondering how long after this will treatment start? Thanks in advance! X

We had two lots of consent forms. One in may, then in August we had a couple of appointments (blood tests, bmi etc) and filled in more consent forms, our scheduling appointment was in September, we started treatment October.

Our process was a bit different though as it included another procedure required before starting ivf, so that might mean you avoid the gap of time we had from may - August.

We have found Newcastle very quick, I was shocked when we went in for the scheduling appointment and they said we could get started in a couple of weeks, as I had thought it would have been months later.

Thank you so much for your reply!

We’ve already done a bunch of tests before our referral so I’m curious to see if we’ll have many more to do / repeat any previous tests - did this happen for you?

@NIAMHIVF its awful my memory of it is so bad considering it was only a few weeks ago 😂. I just went through my calendar, we had a video appointment middle of august, this is where they sent us the second lot of consent forms (as i said it might be unique to me that there were 2 lots, as we had an additional procedure). I came in the following week to check BMI, and I think they did bloods (there are a few different types they need). Once they confirmed my BMI was okay, they set a 'scheduling' meeting, I had the ultrasound at the same time, which was middle of September, and the plan for then was to start when my next period started which was only about 2 weeks later (short cycle), so all in all its been pretty quick. Happy to answer more questions if you want to DM me, I'm on my first round and just had my first transfer. E

I dont know about tests to be honest as I lost track of what they did, but even if they have to do more tests, they dont really take up that much extra time.

Hi, after coming across this thread was wondering if you could tell me when you receive consent forms. We had our first intitial face to face appt at centre for life two weeks ago and had an internal and bloods done etc (we’ve had all previous tests and don’t need anymore) have been told we will no doubt have ICSI due to abnormal sperm and we’re looking at 2 months to start (which was pleasantly surprising!!) however, what is next between this time and they mentioned we’d get a link? To book an appt… if any one can shed any light I’d be grateful!! Thank you x

They sent a text with the link, a patient ID and a key phrase. Which you use to log on. They did this quite quickly. They might just need prompting to get it sent x

Next they'll send you a scheduling appointment i believe. For us that came about a month after all consent was completed
