Ah yes 30g this is what I thought I needed but have been told as it's an oil based liquid I may need like a thicker one like a 25g but I bruise easy so the thinner the better, did you get yours with your meds

Ilovebees · 26/10/2024 18:16

@camelinastorm yes I got it with the meds , when I got the lubion injection xx

camelinastorm · 26/10/2024 20:37

@Ilovebees thanks I'll order some now thanks need to get prepped for the FET so sorting all my meds out and realised they have sent the orange tipped needles they seem to bruise me way too much

Ilovebees · 26/10/2024 20:39

@camelinastorm no worries glad I could help ! Ate your orange ones a little bit bigger than my ones ? Is that why it bruised you ? X

camelinastorm · 26/10/2024 20:45

Yes they are a a 25g so a little thicker, never had an issue before with the yellow 30g ones so just going to order my own

Hi, some advice. You probably meant Prontogest which* *is classed as ‘progesterone in oil’ (PIO) and must be injected intramuscularly. 30 gauge needles are for subcutaneous injections.

You use an 18 gauge/1.5 inch needle to draw the PIO but you need a 22 gauge/1.5 inch needle for injecting progesterone in oil.

This is because PIO is more viscous than water based progesterone (like Lubion).

I hope this helps. ☺️

@StoriesAboutJanuary hi no it's definitely Progestan Dex, Progesterone Injection I'd not say it's thicker, its just what boots said when I tried to buy smaller needles from them, it's definitely a subcutaneous injection. I'm so confused 😂 all I want is to minimise bruising and pain and the orange 25gauge needle is just too thick
