Ovulation after ivf

Hi
I went through my first egg collection on September 18th and had to do freeze all because of risk of ohss. Got my period on October 1st. I had my first ultrasound appt today, and am still having tiny brown discharge as if still my period hasnt finished. On ultrasound the endometrium was only 3.5mm and dr couldnt see leading follicle. I have a repeat ultrasound in 4 days to see if anything is happening.
Since we are trying to do natural fet, did any of you had similar experience and when did you ovulate after stims? Thank you:)

My second cycle after egg collection (so the first cycle that I naturally ovulated on) was longer than usual. By around 5 days (I knew it would be delayed as my ovulation symptoms seemed later than usualt too). Whilst I was anxiously waiting for it I read online that a lot of people end up with it even more delayed than that. Hopefully in 4 days things will have moved on a bit 🤞

After egg collection my next cycle was also about 5 days longer. Your body is getting back to normal, getting rid of extra hormones and the ovaries shrinking back to a normal size (thank goodness because that was uncomfortable!) Mine took more than one cycle to calm down completely but the Dr didn’t seem surprised. I kinda wished that I had waited two full cycles before doing the first transfer, to make sure I was completely back to myself and feeling 100%. Maybe we would’ve had more success, but then again maybe not 🤷🏼‍♀️ good luck with everything 🍀

@Kaybee1989 and @strawberrylaces12 thank you so much for sharing your experience. I hope things turned out good for you. If they didnt, i really hope they will. This is super hard.

Thank you. My first egg collection led to total failed fertilisation of 19 eggs which was a huge shock to us and the clinic. But we made some tweaks and from my egg collection the other week we got 7 embryos. I had a fresh transfer but found out yesterday that hasn't worked unfortunately. Hopefully one of the other 6 will stick. It's such a process isn't it, so hard. But hopefully we both have some success soon 🤞

@strawberrylaces12 I’m sorry to hear about the first fet not working. Fingers crossed for next time 🤞🏻🍀
@dormicumema I had a really straight forward egg collection, 19 collected, 10 fertilized, 6 embryos frozen. First medicated cycle with day 5 embryo failed, a couple of months later we tried again but a natural cycle with only progesterone pessaries and it worked! I’m now 8 weeks pregnant 💓 Fingers crossed we make it to the end, this IVF journey has been an emotional rollercoaster that I don’t wish on anybody but hope that everyone gets their happy ending 💖

@strawberrylaces12 omg from 19 eggs nije fertilized! Did you do icsi second time? We also have 7 blasts but went for freeze all. I read somewhere fet is a bit more successful especially when you ovulate/natural fet. So hoping this will be solution for you/both of us :)

@Kaybee1989 congtats! So natural fet was a win for you! It does seem logical if you ovulate naturally that there are bigger chances for embryo to stick!

We did ICSI the first time and that happened unfortunately. We changed donor (we're a same sex couple) and used Artificial Oocyte Activation the second time and ended up with 7 embryos so clearly that did the trick. But yeah the first cycle outcome was a complete shock and really knocked me mentally I was off work for a few weeks because I just struggled with it so much.

Yeah I've only had one fresh transfer so far so I'm hoping that a FET will be more successful but we'll see. Good luck 😊
