Would you change clinics?

I had my first round at this clinic, 13 eggs retrieved with only 8 mature... of them 2 made it to day 5 blastocyst. I tested PGTA non euploid and one ended in a miscarriage.

Round 2. Different protocol. Of 20 follicles only 7 eggs retrieved. Waiting to hear back on fertilisation and development.

I'm 29 so for my age should be better results.
It's a well known clinic in London, one of the big ones.

Did they provide an explanation for why the number of eggs retrieved was less than half your follicle count? If this result deviates from expectation given your medical history you could consider an appointment with a consultant elsewhere to get a second opinion on their approach.

They said it's because the follicles were empty, nothing in them, not the egg, not the cells that should surround an egg.

Tbh I am unsure what that means

I had less eggs collected than follicles (and in general poor responder with no known reason) but my consultant said that in his opinion “empty
follicules” are a myth, and it was more likely eggs were not mature so didn’t come away from follicule wall. We changed tactics for second egg collection - including delayed egg collection and letting follicles grow bigger. We had a better response at second egg collection (still not as many collected as you, but better for us).
