6 follicles day 8 stims - disappointing?

Hi - I went for my first scan at day 8 of 225iu meriofert and was disappointed that they only saw 6 follicles 😔 (though they seemed decent sizes 12-15mm)

The consultant isn't a great communicator so when I asked if there should be more he just said "that's enough for this cycle" which didn't give me much hope.....

I'd hoped for more so it was all a bit of a disappointment 😔

I'm 39 so age is the big factor. Otherwise I'm fit and healthy (1 living child and 1 MC)

I was taking my injections this evening and just thought "what's the point"

What do you think my chances are?

Any similar, positive stories?

Thank you

❤️ 🌈

Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with it. It sounds like the consultant is happy for it to continue which I'm sure they wouldn't do if they didn't think it was worth it. I've seen a lot of people on here have fewer follicles and have success. I know it's probably over said, but it really does just take one egg. Sometimes people have a lot of follicles and no success (that happened to me on my first cycle). People say quality over quantity. Remember each time you do an injection you are potentially a step closer to success. I hope that you have a good outcome 😊
