How did you feel…?

Hi all,
In my first cycle of IVF 9 eggs were collected, managed to get 1 embryo which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Whilst I’ve got a good AMH and the initial scan showed 14 follicles I didn’t respond so my menopur was whacked up from 225-450. By the time EC came round I was so bloated, uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep. I was happy to have op to get them out!
I’m now on my Second round of IVF; EC tomorrow. Last scan showed 28 follicles. I feel absolutely fine, no real bloating, pain, discomfort etc. I’ve got no signs of OHSS.They put me on 300menopur and reduced it to 150 last two nights.

I don’t understand how the first cycle I felt so terrible with a potential of 7 follicles but now I’ve got 28 and feel zilch? Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else? I know it silly as I can’t control any of it but I’m scared not feeling anything means my follicles have no eggs or something!

Hi, my first cycle I got 5 eggs and felt like a balloon. My third successful cycle I got 12 eggs and felt great in comparison. I think it’s just how your body deals with the meds. It varies cycle to cycle. Good luck!

Both times I had 24 follicles and eggs and felt fine on the lead up to egg collection, maybe a little bit uncomfortable if sleeping on my side. But then after was when I experienced the bloating for about a week, although I was reassured by the clinic that it was normal.

@strawberrylaces12 wow what a great egg haul! Out of interest how many embryos did you get each time? I’d really like to get some Frosties this time!

First time unfortunately we had total fertilisation failure of 19 mature eggs (very rare) but second time I had 21 out if the 24 eggs mature and they used artificial oocyte activation/calcium ionophore which seemed to do the trick and we ended up with 6 embryos, 3 top quality they said so 🤞
