Lost all my friends when my 20 year relationship ended (father of my 3 children) so I have noone to talk to about this struggle. Hi everyone, just thought I'd post back on here first month of trying. I also have a 14,10 and 7 year old. Two boys, one girl. I wasn't sure if I wanted another but something changed in me and now I'm so scared that I won't be able to conceive because of my age. I used to conceive pretty fast. Just tried on our first month in my first window and Mrs P has decided to show her ugly head this morning! I know it's only the first month of trying but I am absolutely gutted. it's clearly not going to be as quick as I thought. I am at the healthiest I've ever been so I'm hoping this will have a good help factor! Good luck everyone! Xx

trying to conceive baby number 2. 40 next year. We got caught first time with our first and so far been trying for 3 months - unsuccessful. It’s so frustrating and exhausting. Thing is my cycle ranges from 21-27 days with Flo predicting when my next period would start despite not being consistent. Since beginning to try, Flo has been all over the place. I had a 28 day cycle last month which is the first time in years. I’m using ovulating strips which aren’t picking up ovulation. Is it possible to ovulate as soon as my period has finished? Any tips?

Hi, what ovulation sticks are you using? The best ones to get are the easy@home ones. You can then use the Premom app that goes with it. Ovulation sticks only pick up your LH surge not ovulation, this is a hormone that releases to indicate it's trying to ovulate, with this you the would normally ovulate 12-36 hours after. Do you do BBT monitoring? This will pick up ovulation. This goes hand in hand with Ovulation testing. The first month of adding this in I got my BFP, I'm now 8 weeks. Also for best chances is to do the deed just before ovulation as the sperm lives longer that the egg. Once the egg is released it will only live 12-24 hours where as the sperm lives 4-5 days. We only BD on LH surge not on ovulation that cycle. Hope this helps. X

42 in a few weeks and ttc #2, first for my husband. Mirena removed early December, 3 very short one-two day bleeds two weekly since and no obvious signs of ovulation yet!
daily OPKs and no LH surge either.
impatient and worried it’s really not going to work 😕

Are you testing twice per day? Some people can have a fast surge and miss it. I did it happened with in 12 hours so if I hadn't of tested twice I would have missed my peak also adding in BBT temping is great to make sure you ovulated as the sticks don't tell you this just tells you that you are releasing the hormone LH. Doesn't always mean you ovulate. X

Sometimes 3 times a day.
its been pretty static with one tiny increase but still low.
BBT wouldn’t be particularly accurate for me as I work shifts and I’m not a great sleeper, so I don’t think it would add much.

im sure it’ll come. Just got to be patient and wait for cycles to level out

I'm sure it will, we don't realise how much it changes our hormones. I have read before with other people when coming off anything it's taken up to 5 months. Good luck.

Hi, so I was testing twice per day. This cycle I have seen a change in my OV tests - lines are actually appearing whereas before it was blank. I downloaded the prenom and have been tracking my OV tests on that. According to premom my OV day is today and Flo says tomorrow.
I tested yesterday morning and got a quite strong line on easy at home strips. By 6 pm it had turned even darker. I tested with clear blue and a smiley face appeared - first time ever! I tested this morning and it’s decreased again making my peak (according to app) yesterday. Clear blue test this evening is circle.

we had sex yesterday and night before (day before positive clear blue and day of positive clear blue) is my last chance this cycle today or is that me done for this month?

Ovulation is 12-36hrs post peak and then an egg can last up to 24hrs, so you’ve still got time!

Just checked my temp too and it’s highest it’s been at 37.21

Hi, I conceived in jan after trying for 3 cycles-caught on 4th. Unfortunately that ended in missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. Stopped growing at 5. I am now pregnant again - caught first cycle. I’m 7 weeks and I’ve seen a heart beat ❤️. Very anxious and feel like o can’t plan or be excited. My due date is my 41st birthday.

my advice would be to use OV tests and start testing as soon as your period has finished. Have sex every other day and then day of peak and following two days. The app predicted my OV wrong so I was missing it.

Its shown / taught me that many eggs are abnornal at this age due to age

We have miscarriage history and spending that 3.5k - saved the pain of 4 more miscarriages

We did have an euploid / pgta normal in our results but yeah..

If any of you do ivf - i recommend pgta

wel I had my BPF on 26/04 about 3 weeks pregnant!
I went for a private scan on 24/05 could only see a gestational sac measuring 9.5 msd 😔 nothing else, they referred me to EPU for pregnancy of unknown location….. I had another scan with EPU 3 days later, which showed things had progressed slightly in that the sac was now 11.5msd and a yolk was seen, she wouldn’t date me as she said they don’t do that , that early on. I am to go back for another scan 14/06, to see how things are going….. report said “ pregnancy of unknown viability” .

2 week and 4 days to wait, it’s killing me, 10 days to go !

BFP 26/04/25 ( very faint)
first scan 24/05 - only a 9.5mm msd sac
second scan 27/05 - sac 11.5mm msd and a yolk

third scan pending………..

im hoping everything is ok and it’s just taking its seeet time developing? However, I’m not delusional, I seem to have read EVERYTHING online, so I don’t think my chances are good

So sorry to hear this. My dates are pretty much the same as yours. LMP 8th April, positive 2nd May, first scan 27th May. I was measuring 6 weeks 6 days and a heart beat was present.

out of curiosity have you got a mix of genders? I’m convinced I can’t carry boys. Obviously if this current pregnancy is all ok that theory will only be proved in 7 months

Well, I have another update.

i could wait for the EPU scan next sat and paid for a private one today.

today we saw a yolk, embryo & heartbeat, so good progression on the last one….. still not where it should be for 9 weeks now.

I know timings can be out and I’m ok with that, I just know that I had a faint positive 6 week ago today, and now today the baby is measuring 6 week 🤷🏻‍♀️.

each time I go for a scan, it matched to my conception dates ( at a guess) rather than lmp.

…which isn’t unheard of because your cycle may have changed. My cycle ranged from 21-27 days. I think from conception is a more accurate prediction.
