Varicocele embolism - how long till you saw a difference?

Just that basically! My boyfriend has the procedure done last Tuesday so was thinking of going for IVF round 2 around January time giving it 3.5 months - I've now been told we should leave it more like 6 months.
If any change, how long did you wait to see results?

Also I know 2.5 months extra wait doesn't seem much but it's already been 5 months since my last FET so it just seems like forever!

Hi @waitingforourmiracle I recognise your name from this year, sorry it seems like your first round didn't work out in the end 😔
My DH had one last July but we still ended up still going through IVF in January. The fertilisation rate in both of ours ended up being great so I'm not sure if it was the op that helped but also all the vitamins/ change in lifestyle etc.
wishing you the best of luck!

@Natty2 hey, I remember your name too! Thank you, unfortunately had a MMC discovered at our first clinic scan.
Did it make a difference at all compared to SA done before the procedure? I know it's very wishful thinking but praying this helps us conceive naturally rather than going through another IVF round xx

@waitingforourmiracle so sorry to hear that 😔
Honestly, for us I'm not sure it made a huge difference as it could have just been down to genetic issues. I think there was a slight improvement, morphology went from 1 to 3%
Everyone is different though!

I hope it works out 🤞🤞

@Natty2 Thank you! Last question lol - what supplements did he take/life style changes did he do? X

He was on proxceed for a while and also implemented lifestyle changes such as no caffeine/ alcohol etc making sure he would keep cool down there too and ice them daily! 😅

Between our two egg collections we both took ubiquional which I think personally made a huge difference in the slight improvement but also my egg maturity. I think he also took l-carnitine and r-lipoic acid - which are recommended in the it starts with an egg book.

We actually found that he relaxed a little more between both egg collections (ie had some odd coffees and beers in the end) and that might have helped too!

It's such a tricky thing!

@Natty2 thank you so much!! Where are you up to now in your journey?

Since my last cycle I've joined a gym and I think that has helped me mentally massively, I am so much more chilled out about everything, it's shifted my focus. I needed it, I think I was close to going insane at one point 🙈

No worries! Happy to help in anyway. It's just such a tricky thing as everyone is so different. But I've definitely found people on here to be helpful with their tips!
Glad that you've managed to find a distraction, it can get all too consuming so it's really important to do that and it will be doing your body and mind a world of good to get you ready for whatever is to come next.

For us we did an nhs round in Jan- fresh cycle cancelled due to high progesterone and then only ended up with one embryo frozen.
We decided whilst still young to go in for round 2 in March- fresh cancelled again due to risk of OHSS but ended up with 7 frozen
Managed to finally do a natural FET in June and really fortunate to say that I'm now 19 weeks and still not really believing that it's true!
I really hope it works for you soon 💕
