Wrong dose of Oestradiol

Hi, wondering if anyone might have any info or insight here.

I just had a FET. Prior to that using oestradiol patches and, closer to the FET, cyclogest pessaries.

FET was yesterday. Have just discovered this morning that I’ve been taking half the dose of oestradiol that I should have been the whole way along. (100 mg rather than 200 mg). This morning I applied the 200 mg.

Basically, the clinic have an app with instructions so I followed that – it refers to applying one patch the whole way along. So I deferred to this and applied one patch. Now noticed the box says two patches. Obviously under usual circumstances I just read the instructions on/in the medication. Feeling pretty fucked off to be honest.

My lining was thick enough on the scan but obviously since then have been taking the pessaries, and… well it’s just introduced a concern that this might now have an adverse effect on things.

Hi, I'd say if your lining was good enough for transfer after taking half a dose then it probably won't matter. Did you tell your clinic? Hopefully they will be able to assure you. Also, they should revise the instructions on the app so that others don't make the same mistake as you did. They could easily add a line saying this is how you do it, please follow the instructions on the box for the correct dose for you or something like that. TWW is tough, so be kind to yourself. Good luck 🍀

Thanks for replying! Yes, this is what has been relayed to me from the clinic – they don’t have any concerns. I am going to feed back a suggestion about how this could be signposted more clearly – I’ve never taken the wrong dose of a medicine before to my knowledge!!

Thanks also for the kind words!
