Losing Weight for IVF

Hi all, I thought I would try posting here as I am finding it very difficult to find any support anywhere else. I am 41 (42 in Jan) and need to lose around 4 stone to get my BMI below 30 to have a round of IVF on the NHS. I am struggling big time to get in to the right mind set and have been self sabotaging for years trying to get this weight off. Now I feel like the time is ticking and I don't want to miss my chance for treatment. Is there anyone here who is going through something similar or if not, can I please be pointed in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I would try mounjaro, if you can afford it! I took it for a few months before I started treatment and I lost quite a lot of weight on it. You might need to get it privately but you will be able to if your BMI is over 30.

Just make sure that you come off it in good time for egg collection. I came off it a month before starting stims - it needs to be fully out of your system because it can cause issues with the sedation.

Thank you. I will look in to it as I am willing to try anything!

Hiya. I lost two and half stone to get my BMI down. My first cycle wasn't successful and I'd gained half a stone but managed to get that back off for my next cycle which starts next month. I find the best thing for me for quick weight loss has been the fast 800 diet, and have used MyFitnessPal to count the calories. I lost 7lb the first week of fast 800 xx

Thank you. I'll look in to that too. Best of luck with your next cycle.
