Varicocele and blocked tubes

I have two blocked tubes, diagnosed by laparoscopy a few years ago, and now in a fun plot twist my partners SA has come back with low morphology (1%).

He has now magically remembered being diagnosed with a varicocele at 14... He is now 33! No one told him as a teenager that there could be fertility implications in the future.

Our GP wants us to redo the test in 3 months before she will refer us onto the 2 year waiting list (!!!) in our area. I would like to argue that that is a waste of time when we are bound for IVF regardless if his morphology improves in December - could I push this?

I've seen discussion on surgery for varicocele - is there any point if I can only conceieve with IVF anyway? Will they make us pursue that first?

If anyone has any experience of combined FFI and MFI, please do share!

I didn't have the combination but I have no issues with my reproduction and because the surgery failed on my husbands varicocele we had to have ICSI to conceive our baby. You should totally push for IVF due to you needing it anyway, it seeks mad that they'd follow the tick box exercise of two year wait when you have a diagnosis.

Really hope they listen, that's such a pointless exercise. It would be good to get his varicocele embolised however as dna fragmentation can be high and there's thread after thread on here of people whose embryos have arrested after day 3 when the male gene takes over, bevause the sperm was damaged on a level that normal tests can't pick up. Your ivf clinic when you get onto that might have suggestions.
