Lister or ARGC?

Would love to hear your experience with Lister or ARGC? I had a consultation with Dr Tim Bracewell at Lister, he was really good and thorough to discuss a plan with me; my consultation with Dr Sapna at ARGC was also great.

Debating between both clinics, as Dr Tim is very responsive and he can perform a mock transfer (I need to a mock transfer due to anatomical problem), while I like the constantly monitoring at ARGC.

also would like to hear about your experience with their labs. Thank you!

I've had a fantastic experience with the Lister - can't fault anything about them. The team are kind, friendly and professional. Nurses respond to emails on the same day, often under an hour. Consultant often responded on the same day too and I had their direct email address.

On my egg collection day I felt so incredibly well looked after and we have had a good outcome. The lab are also great.

The only slight negative was there was quite a lot of waiting around in between scans, blood tests and nurse consultations, but I think that would be the same wherever you went, especially a large London based clinic.

No experience with ARGC but would recommend the Lister. Dr Tim Bracewell did one of my egg collections (you get whoever is on duty on the day but they’re all very good) and I really liked him - very caring, reassuring and genuine.

Thank you for your message. Did you get to discuss any plans or the results with their embryologists? I wanted to know more about their lab team.

Yes, the embryologist came to see me in person after my egg collection. Then they keep you updated on the development of embryos via phone call every couple of days. You can ask them any questions you want, they're very helpful, and if they don't know they try to find out/ ring you back.

I felt in good hands and they would actually explain things rather than just say yes/ no etc.

That's great to know thank you! My fertilisation rate was low from my previous clinic and the doctor and embryologist didn't explain much. And on top of other things, that's why I'm really considering to change to Lister. Thank you for your help!

Honestly my advice is just go for it.

I had a bad experience at another clinic before moving to the Lister. The Lister are so much more on the ball and actually pay attention. They'd probably question why your fertilisation rate might be low, rather than just going "oh well, let's try the same thing again!" (as my previous clinic did - and made me quite unwell in the process - but that's another story!)

I look back at my previous clinic now and wonder how on earth I stayed with them for so long and gave them so many chances!

We've got a handful of embryos in the freezer now - which we've never had before - so hoping that one will work.

The Lister are so reassuring and I just feel so safe with them.

Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

May I know which consultant you had at Lister?

We used the Lister and we were given the opportunity to have a sit down appointment and chat with one of their embryologists. I am trying to remember the name, I think possibly Victoria but really not sure. She was lovely though, very empathetic and genuine, and gave us lots of time and information. So hopefully you could have a direct talk with the lab team too.
