Hi ladies

We are starting IVF in the next week or so. Period due on Friday 13th .. and going to be on antagonist protocol. I'm worried about OHSS as I have PCOS.

Does anyone have any tips for

  • comfy clothing/ loungewear for when near egg collection or bloated? Was thinking some loungewear bits from M&S and maybe a comfy dressing gown
  • any self-care things/ toiletries which you would recommend?

Just trying to have some little things to look forward to during this crappy time

Thanks

Great question! I bought a new dressing gown for my EC and didn't use it at all, I was in a hospital gown instead for EC and wore comfy jogging bottoms for the day 🙏

@Englishrose35 definitely some comfy leggings that stretch. I feel like that was the main thing that made me comfortable pre and post egg collection and fingers crossed it will be useful for post transfer too 🤞
My friend made me a little pamper gift bag which was really sweet before we started our cycle. So anything that might help you relax a little
I also brought a heat pad which was really helpful after both of my ECs- you can get that from Amazon and adjust the heat setting.
Good luck!

You don’t really need anything special. After egg collection you will be in the clinic for a max of an hour. During the procedure you will wear a hospital gown and socks. For some reason warm winter socks always felt great and comforting. I just walked in them around with no shoes on. Right before/ After egg collection you will be asked to use the bathroom. I still walked around in my socks. Haha. My clinic was extra clean though.

I have worn my regular clothes. You might get bloated before so just wear a loose dress or leggings. I just wore my joggers and a sweatshirt/hoodie. You will only be asked to change back into your clothes right before you go home.
