Hi all,

After a few years of TTC, an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage this year, I’ve been referred for IVF.
I don’t know too much about the process but would like to read or listen to a podcast which will help us understand the process and prepare as best we can.

I have a blocked tube, few small unconcerning fibroids but all other tests seem ok. Partner has had sample taken and all ok there too (although dna fragmentation out of range so will take impryl to improve).
But if anyone else has any advice I’d love to hear that too.
we already take fertility supplements + vid d, vit c, co-cq10, b12 and omega 3.

I’m NW based so if any specific experiences under liverpool women’s or whiston hospital would also be great to hear.

thank you x

Exciting! I am in the NW too and currently at the women's ☺️ if you have any questions just ask!

I would suggest buying "it starts with the egg" book, it's great and informative 👌

I really enjoyed "get a life" it gives you a couple IVF journey from both sides, I'm not a reader but I couldn't put this down.

In terms of podcasts I highly recommend “Big Fat Negative” it started in 2018 though so worth bearing in mind some of the early stuff might be slightly out of date but not really. “Don’t tell me to relax” is good as is “What the F Fertility” quite a few of the recipe books I’ve bought have been good too and helpful for making diet changes (which is recommended 3 months prior to ivf) I’ve got “eat yourself pregnant” by Zita West and “the fertility kitchen” by Charlotte Brand. We do these recipes but also follow Mediterranean diet as advised by fertility specialist. Also low carbs and low/no alcohol! Hope that helps, wishing you all the best x

Ah thank you. I have this book already but just cherry picked certain chapters based on where we were at. Will go back to it!

whereabouts are you up to? I hope it’s all going ok. I find the women’s good but I didn’t always get the care I should have during my MC etc, but once you’re with the right person they are brilliant. We saw Katrina bambang who was wonderful, I think I’ll be seeing her in the ivf clinic again for my first proper appointment in a few months. X
