I have my Egg Collection scheduled for Friday, and hopefully Egg Transfer the week after (fingers crossed 🤞)...

What do I need to take with me? I read something about comfy clothes and shoes... anything else? 🙃

Something to read or watch whilst you’re waiting. Snacks for afterwards (you will be fed in hospital, but good to have some energy boosting snacks after fasting).
Clothes and underwear with a loose waistband, sanitary pads for the (usually minimal) bleeding.
Honestly, egg collection was much less invasive than I expected it to be. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks, will I need PJs/nightwear or a dressing gown?

I don’t think so… I was told to change into my hospital gown 30 mins before I went into theatre, and then got straight back into my clothes after I came round from the anaesthetic and had a cup of tea. You won’t be in bed for long at all.

I was told to take a dressing gown to wear over my gown as the back is open, no pjs required. I also took slippers with me. First collection I wore these down to the theatre room, the second time I just wore socks. (Theatre sounds dramatic but not sure what else to call it 😂)
I wore the same jeans I wore home and didn’t even think to take sanitary pads which wasn’t needed anyway.
I also took sandwiches and a bottle of water/lucozade as I wasn’t given food at my clinic. They like you to eat/drink before you leave after collection.
Also I took a magazine but mainly used my phone the whole recovery time (about an hour depending on how your feeling)
The transfer was literally in, do the deed and straight out afterwards. There was no recovery period and I walked from the theatre back to my bed.
Wishing you all the best, good luck x
