Hi all,

I’m starting my first cycle of IVF next month and looking for some ‘clean’ products to use as I heard many products can interfere with embryos etc

Can you please recommend what deodorants, shower gels, shampoos and body lotions you used

thank you in advance!

The shower gel I was recommended was the sanex zero. It’s got no fragrance etc

@Gkb90 I switched to Wild natural deodorant and also use the Sanex Zero shower gel, and I’ve switched my face cream to one from Holland & Barrett’s. I’m not sure about shampoo etc though!

I also download the Yuka app which you can use to scan products and it lists whether it’s safe to eat/use or not (not IVF specific though, more of a general health thing) which I’ve used a little bit. It did show me that one of the hair care products I was using is an endocrine disrupter which can affect fertility, so I’m grateful to have realised that, although I wish I’d known sooner.

I think it’s a bit easy to get overwhelmed or OTT with it it all though so I’m trying to have a balance with it all - changing the things that are easy swaps and I don’t mind changing, but also allowing myself the things that make me happy. I hope that helps!

Oh and good luck with your first cycle!!

I found this website helpful. It also has a safe product list by brands. This is an USA site, so you will see more US brands. But the doctor who runs this site responds to queries if you provide the full ingredients list if your product is not listed.

As a PP said, it can be quite overwhelming, you need to strike a balance. If this ends up causing you more stress then it really defeats the purpose, so bear this in mind. Good luck 🍀

Pregnancy Beauty: Everything You Need to Know

Pregnancy skin care is different than normal skin care. Your skin is changing throughout pregnancy due to hormone shifts, but you can't use all of the same active ingredients. Here's a guide to pregnancy skin care.

Hi all thank you so much for your suggestions and well wishes! It does get quite overwhelming trying to switch over everything but think I’m going to switch things that are a bit more easier and manageable!

@Serendipity24 thank you for that website link it’s so helpful!
