NHS IVF - long wait for nurse appointment

Hey everyone, DH and I have been approved for NHS funded IVF and have had our initial appointment with a consultant to determine our protocol etc. Sadly we can’t commence until a second nurse appointment to sign forms, learn how to inject etc. There’s a 3 month wait for this appointment, which takes us almost up to Christmas, which further worries us that we’ll be pushed back to 2025.

The clinic advised they rarely get cancellations and there’s no waiting list for cancellations either, we just have to call up and check. The wait is agonising, after 6 years of unsuccessfully TTC.

Does anyone know whether it’s possible to pay for a private nurse appointment to sign the consent forms and run through the instructions etc?

The 3 month wait to sign consents etc isn't really a wait for the consents - its a wait to start treatment. No point doing the consents until you're about to start treatment as they do only last for a limited space of time.

We had similar wait time, it is frustrating but I tried everything to move our appointment forward with no luck! Luckily after the 3 months and signing your consent forms it all goes quickly after then 🙏
