Improving egg quality

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone knew any good ways to improve egg quality? So for a bit of background info I'm knocking on 39 and have really low egg quality. I struggle to even get a BFP never mind hold on to a pregnancy. I do have one child and as far as I know she was a unicorn baby as we were trying for 3 years without even a sniff of a second line before I got pregnant with her. It was only after trying for the second and miscarrying that I was diagnosed with very low egg quality. I was just wondering if there was anything that people did that they found helped improve their eggs? I'm considering cutting out alcohol completely. I'm pretty active and eat a pretty good diet. I do drink quite a lot of coffee though as I'm a flight attendant and work all of the hours of the day (and night) which I know doesn't help! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that I'm no spring chicken and that biological clock is ticking away 🙈 thank you in advance ❤️

I'm in the 2WW following my first cycle of IVF.

My consultant recommended I took 600mg of co-enzyme q10/day (you can get it from Boots) and although they only retrieved two eggs, both fertilised and one developed into a day 5 blastocyst so I like to think that might have worked.

He also spoke about DHEA but in the end advised me not to take it as I seem to be predisposed to developing simple ovarian cysts and apparently this can make you more likely to get it.

For coffee can you drink decaf every other and see if you actually notice the difference? I've never drank excessive amounts but am trying to reduce ATM as in theory I could be pregnant

Good luck on your TTC journey!

@Optimistic66 @JenRi thank you for your replies 😊 I did try coQ10 for about 6 months but I'm not sure I was taking it correctly as I think you're meant to take it with food and u would just take it on an empty stomach with my coffee every morning 🙈 I'll give it another go though if it's proven to work. I only have another couple of years of trying in me so I might as well give it everything! Thank you so much both xx

@thejollytrolleydolly I also read that Co q10 should be taken with meals, Boots do a max strength of 200mg so I used to aim to take one after each meal.

I think the other thing to remember is that anything you take for egg quality won't have any effect for 2-3 months because of the nature of how eggs develop!

I'm 31 with terrible egg quality even do I'm actually pretty healthy myself, 1st round of ivf got 4 eggs (extremely low amh) none of the eggs fertilized they said my eggs looked bad too, 2nd ivf cycle 2 eggs 2 fertilized with icsi growth slowed at day 4 eggs looked every abnormal missing lots of cells. Died day 5.
I do love my coffee also I sometimes wonder is this the cause 😒 I'm trying to stick to 1 cup then decafe after that, but the supplements I'm taken are ubiquinol 800mg and NMN & resveratrol I take these either a hour before coffee or a hour after because coffee stops the absorption of vitamins/nutrients obviously I take the other usual ones folic acid vit D, but I'll know if these make a difference when I start my 3rd round of ivf in October.

FYI I have a 5 year old dd but ttc 3 years never got a positive

My OH and I swear by NMN, after a while off trying we took the NMN by Longevity Formulas for a few months. Tried again and conceived right away! Could be coincidence but given how much more energy we feel like we have on it, I think it def helped out with our conception. I won't be without it now. 😀

Hi everyone, looking into NMN after a failed IVF round due to 1 mature egg that didnt fertalise.

How has everyone got on since taking NMN and Coq10/ubiquinol, would really appreciate feedback x
