What was your period like after a CP?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this question.

4 years TTC, 3 rounds of IVF and our first ever BFP resulted in a chemical pregnancy confirmed by blood tests 2 weeks ago.

It was an IVF pregnancy so I stopped all progesterone on 25th July.

Five days later I had some cramping and light, brown bleeding for one day. Then some very minimal/light spotting for a few days.

Since then, nothing. It's now been 11 days since the chemical was confirmed and I stopped progesterone. I never got any red flow at all. I feel so strongly that the small bit of brown bleeding for one day surely CAN'T have been my period ?? but I have read online sometimes after a CP your body can absorb it.

Has anybody experienced similar?

I'm keen to start provera on CD 14 in prep for another egg collection but I'm not sure whether to class what I had as a period or not.

Feeling a bit lost (as well as hopeless and all the other emotions that failed IVF brings)

Hi, my first BFP was also a CP. From what I remember though I had just a normal period, I think within a week of stopping progesterone - but I was also only like 15dp5dt when I stopped progesterone, and my hcg levels were very very low, only 5 I think when I stopped (sorry, this was quite some time ago!). I'd wait until you have a 'proper' period to be honest, just to give your body some time for things to come back to normal.

Thank you for your reply @2mumlife

I still have not had a proper bleed. I have my consultation on Monday so going to ask my consultant. It's been 17 days now since stopping progesterone. I don't have any symptoms of a period coming either.

In a way it's making it hard for me to have closure.

Will see what my consultant says! x

@lemons44 So sorry for your loss. What was your HCG level like? Maybe they are slow to come down hence the delay in bleeding? I think it's good to have a proper bleed after a chemical before trying for another round, be it egg collection or FET. What did the doctor say?
